I've had 2 different Pit Boss pellet smokers. Both would 'crunch' pellets in the auger and create a lot of crumbles and dust. Which eventually leads to clogging the auger. Switched to the ridiculously overpriced Traeger brand and have had zero issues since.

Hey Guys!! I just bought this grill. I had a Pit Boss Austin XL for 4yrs, and wore it out!! I used it, at least 3x a week smokin, or grilling, or baking. My old one's igniter went out, and was fixing to replace it, till I noticed the burn pot starting to rust out and the grates were looking rough also. Good excuse to up grade!! LOVE Pit Boss, and can't wait to try out my new Laredo!!

No you need it closed. The smoker allows some airflow by nature to vent. But you want it closed to contain all the heat to burn off the oils

I've had a Cabela's branded Camp Chef Pellet Smoker for 7 years. In those 7 years I've replaced the board and auger motor, other than that it's been great. I've kind of been wanting a Masterbuilt Gravity Series now that my current smoker is having some hiccups staying lit (I could probably fix this but I am ready to move on) Wal-Mart has the Pit Boss 1k and Masterbuilt 800 on-sale. Gun to head, which one you buying?

Just got a Onyx austin xl..... I see the burn off... does this replace the seasoning part or I still have to do that too?
@waltwins Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! Seasoning on a smoker isn’t necessary - the burn off is intended to burn/clear any oils or residue left from packing and string of the unit on store shelves. Some people do season the inside of their smoker, but it’s not a common practice. Hope this helps!
@wyldmanbill Жыл бұрын

Thank you for watching regardless, we get it’s not for everyone. One thing we’ve learned though, is technology changes in many cases to make things easier and better.
