The thing about the name you input being for "someone that guides the protagonist" and other trailer about our world being a fantasy world to them makes me think its gonna have some meta storytelling elements

Inputting a name for who is guiding the protagonist, who will look to you for advice during the story + the protagonist having their own voice makes me hope that they will do my favourite trope in video games: The video game character says your name out loud, which is very likely now with AI.

After watching the livestream I was worried about the graphics as it seems to be low resolution but after watching your video I feel very relieved. I'm so pumped for this game and truly hope more people will acknowledge this game as Atlus games needs to be shown off to a wider audience. Winning GOTY would be amazing.

And here I was thinking if they ever remake P4 or when they start working on P6, that at least let the Protagonist speak when you choose a response and not leave the voice lines to battle lines or Persona names. What they're doing here for the protag for Metaphor seems like a good first step.

Same here. So great I actually went for it. I didn't really think it would get wiped out that fast. I know this game is gonna be peak but that's wild for a non-Persona non-SMT game.

I’m not a huge fan of it, but no one forces us to buy DLC. Plus, Atlus consistently develops & releases high-quality niche games. I don’t mind paying a little extra here & there for DLC or season passes b/c I want to support the company. (I mean, word is they are also remaking “P1 & P2” right now. If we get a remake of “SMT 2”, I’ll probably die from happiness!!! 😂)

At least it has a somber element to it now as it's a life or death kingly election that if you wait too long on you will surely lose and the world will be doomed. In Persona it's a nebulous "Oh no, school is going to be over soon! I wonder what will happen?!" while here it's a "You better get your sh*t together or nothing good will come of your potential and the world will suffer for it."

In my personal opinion, I don't think TMS was bad enough to count as a miss. A disappointment compared to expectations and story, yes. But in terms of gameplay it was pretty good. I would go as far as to say that Atlus games always have at least decent gameplay even if various other aspects fall flat. I value gameplay the highest so it's harder for me to consider games like TMS a miss.

I personally hope that the game won't feel like there is a lack of story. Since the presentation told me that we would be able to pick and choose dungeons with the goal to convince the people, so to say. But a non-linear approach like this can be very tricky for the storytelling. + I find the UI rather awful. It is pretty, but actually reading it requires too much effort. And that's disappointing, because P3-P5 all had amazing UIs.... this just isn't it. Even dialogue boxes (can) have this distracting white effect (5:40) that makes it harder to read the actual text. Maybe not for everyone, but for me it could have been a dealbreaker if I didn't love the Persona games. I'm not sure if this is my PDD-NOS or not though, so that sucks. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I do think not having any romance is a missed opportunity obviously. But that does not mean i wont play it. Its just kind off expected att this point so to not see it is kinda strange. Btw yes i know there is no romance in SMT but there are hints of it in some ocations in the games. Whos to say this game doesnt have the same stuff?

To be fair, the romances in Persona were never canon to the story and as such never impacted the story in any type of way. Theoretically you don't even have to complete any social link, let alone enter a romance.

This is similar to trails from dawn combat hopefully the action mode will be better then falcoms because I’m still disappointed that the people who made ys didn’t put that same quality in that mode same feeling I had with Tokyo xanadu

@stonalisa3729 not officially but you can find a really good fan patch online for pc to mod in for both games. The first game is complete. The second game fan patch was mostly manually translated when I played it in and the rest was machine translated until they caught up so I would think the patch is done now. I finished them in August so just look it up on KZbin that's where I found the link. I can't remember which one.

It's also on PS4 and PS5. Edit: It even says at the end of the video that it will be released on PS4 and 5 as well as Xbox and PC.

I'm actually a bit concerned about the emphasis on winning battles 'unscathed'. If that is gonna be a reasonably achievable goal in most encounters then it suggests combat is going to be pretty easy. I guess we won't know for sure exactly how it plays out until we see more.

Could just be a bonus and you know how Atlus games want to make you feel powerful. The sheer number of battles you will have to fight in a dungeon would probably make it a bit unneccessary to have say an SMT Nocturne level difficulty for every encounter. There's a reason why Nocturne and Strange Journey aren't as highly reviewed as a Persona 5 Royal or Persona 4 Golden.

It will easily beat FF7Rebirth because compared to FF7R2 it will be available on almost all platforms. Oh and it is a new IP so far more exiting than FF7R.

Not sure about great UI, i don't like it. It is too big for me. I'm more on a simple style UI side. And about GOTY, we need to understand that only very "hyped" games becomes GOTY. You can have great story, visuals, music, but if you are only for a niche player base then good luck even with nomination.

I am excited for this game but once AGAIN it is nothing new! This has the same gameplay mechanics as was in the persona games same UI same field maps just in a high fantasy setting and even the characters are very anime “persona” based characters like I said before I am hyped for this game but still it doesn’t give GOTY to me at all heckkk no this year tbh has been horrible for video games the gaming industry needs to come together and stop chasing these very very old and tired trends so many people have seen time and time again otherwise gaming is going to crash and burn idk what game is going to get GOTY this year during the stupid as hell game awards this year that event needs to stop permanently in my opinion

We need a Switch version. I don't like playing on PC it's annoying "cloud gaming library". NS version for P3 reload too and P4 reload if they make it.

Not new IP at all! just the same old patterns, narratives, gameplay mechanics, aesthetics. We’ve seen all these worn-out schemes in hundreds of other games since PS2 era. It’s as if you asked an AI to create a game based on existing ones, but gave it a different title, which also isn’t anything original.
