I got there with Charcanine. Made a meta call to see lots of grass decks and stall strategies. This emblem was tougher to get tried pika, m2, celebi but 🔥 still running hot

When I did the 45 win event a couple weeks ago it easily performed the best. I almost went like 15-0 or something with it, congrats!

I can see your stance for red card in the pidgeot/fighting deck when it's an open deck list tourney. But I don't think X-speed is ever the cut, the card is way to important to how marshadow/hitmon/fetch functions and to not get wrecked by tempo sabrina on a marshadow. Red Card occupies a similar space as pokeflute, providing niche utility and letting you push past people holding basics against hitmonlee or pidgeot. But flute never accidently fixes your opponents hand. I can see experimenting with cutting the flute for a red card to see how much it feels missed.

Yeah I totally get the argument and I've played it both ways (x2 speed and x1 x-speed/1 red card). the only thing I can say is just play both and if that's still your stance then keep tinkering with it.

I agree that red card seems very good in that Pigeot EX decklist, but x speed feels so horrible to cut. Double x speed already feels mandatory in the standard fighting core, because the games are fast and the energy is tight. Is there another card that might be cuttable?

Maybe 1 Hitmonlee or marshadow. You’re sort of picking which deck you’re more afraid of or think you’ll see between Gyarados or Pikachu

Oh yeah the deck can cook in some matchups and then if you get early Arcanine EX it's hard for every deck to deal with

The basic Mewtwo is used to help counter the new Pikachu matchup. Pikachu with Galvantula crushes regular version of Mewtwo sinvce you trap Mewtwo EX with no energy instead of them being able to take a hit or two before Leafing it out. With baby Mewtwo you can take the same hit but only give up one point. Jynx doesn't do this.

Yeah it’s literally same thing we saw in Apex format. Jynx does other things like not necessarily be awful in mirror and so on. Just good to see some actual development in the deck with a single prize attacker.

When it says "drop" next to an opponent name, does that mean the opponent quit the tournament and it's an automatic win?

Yes that's exactly it. The games may or may not have been played.

For some reason I get the best results with 2 Farfetch'd 2 Hitmonlee 0 Marshadows. I never want to open with Marshadow and I feel like 2 energy for one attack and dying afterwards isn't worth it most of the time. Pidgeot needs 3 energy man. No time for Marshadow (2 X Speed 1 Flute 1 Sabrina 1 Gio 1 Red Card)

The only reason Marshadow feels so necessary is the Pikachu matchup. It almost feels hopeless unless you find Marshadow early to have a shot, but Zebstrika is a pain to deal with.
