Oh dang it. I played an entire campaign with Diana and never realized I would begin with Dark Insight in my opening hand.

I'm a moderate noobie, having played the Core Set Campaign and Dunnwich. I tried playing Diana Stanley as my first mystic on Carcosa as a monster-hunter, paired with Daisy as a clue-getter. I had watched the videos on this channel, and followed the advice to play cancel effects immediately rather than waiting for the best moment. It still felt SO SO clunky to get her going. I played her with Daisy, so card draw was not an issue. When we got to the Carcosa Paris scenario, Daisy and Diana just got immediately punched in the face. I lost repeatedly, and recognized these investigators (or maybe decks?) were being killed by a fast-moving scenario that requires some real evade ability. I decided to start over with different investigators. I paired Luke and Finn as two flex investigators, and everything just runs so much more smoothly. I haven't gotten to Paris, but feel much better prepared. I would not recommend Diana to a new player, or even a newish player if she is their first mystic.

Diana was the first investigator i played, picked because she had the cultist tag and I thought it was cool 2 years later she's still one of my favorite investigators

If only this video was available before we started The Circle Undone and failed the campaign horribly. Only got to understand her playstyle at the last scenario, but it's too little to late. Still, great video!

My favorite part of Diana is her ability to face tank bosses infinitely with DtI + Twilight Blade combo. In the Scarlet Keys I kept the The Beast in a Cowl of Crimson on me while the rest of the team just complete the objectives.

In my opinion you should definitely be fishing for her blade very early. Having that much extra cancel is amazing. And being able to attack early with brain is fantastic. Always run prepared for the worst in her deck

I had a great time with Empower Self. Pushing her non-will stats to 5s was quite strong.

If I were to play Diana I'd simply choose to cancel/ignore the 2.23 FAQ and deny the weakness anyway.

If Diana had 3 cards under her could Deny Existence work for 1 of the cards? I can see it not working for multiples, but can it work on just 1?

Wait, from that Eric say sat 15:00ish, you can't use Deny Existence on even one of the choices? I thought it was that say you had two cards in your basement, you could choose horror for the first card, deny that, and then choose horror for the second card and you'd have to take the horror. But this suggests that if you deny the horror for the first choice, you'd then have to choose to discard the card?

You can deny one horror, but not all of the horror anymore.

I don't see how Deny Existence could be used against Terrible Secret. It's said that it can be used against encounter card or enemy attack. Terrible Secret is neither. Unfortunately, even for one of the choices, it can't be used.

When you draw a weakness it is treated as an encounter card.

Does Deny Existence 5 work on Terrible Secret at all? Weaknesses aren't encounter cards, are they?

When you draw a weakness, it "turns into" an encounter card. So you can Deny Existence 5 one of the triggers of Terrible Secret. :)
