Is it worth running 3x Catachans and 3x Chimeras in a list? I noticed in a lot of the lists you discussed the max number was 2 of each.

Yeah absolutely, up to 4 is generally good. After that you really need to start budgeting deployment space

i haver never seen you being that positive or even mention rapiers, 1x3 configs nonetheless. What made you go that way in that specific list?

Honestly I think they're mostly ok but they're cheap access to lascannons. They're good scoring pieces Matthew Edginton, who I did an interview with, was using them to great effect at London GT and he was directly referenced as an inspiration for the list

Ya i gotta say people are gonna agree to disagree on this one, the Guard community is so split. Some say Dorns are good, many top players dont; many lists ran 18 Bullgryn. Many pro players said thats a bad player crutch (18 bulls). Now we got you saying 3x Scout sentinels dont provide much past being a "tech piece" alpha strike????? Whaaaaat. Changed the second list which was specifically a scout sentinel pressure list and turned it into a shell of a tempestus scion list. Mang the Scout sentinles are 21 wounds, t7 3+, you cant just put secondary fire power, you need to kill them. They are ultimate GUM. No other unit is scouting, dealing dmg, absorbing dmg, AND actively buffing your entire army. Im preaching to the choir, give it two months and we will see multiple Scout Sentinel Spam armies winning tournies. "I dont know what Lord Solar is doing in this army" I dunno, telling the triple Chimeras with Ogryns to take aim?? Take aim Scout Sentinels, Move Move Move Taurxes... Hot take: Sentinel Spam works better with Plasma cannons. Ayce targets, blast, high ap, and it helps proc reinforcements. Edit: Nah like there was one list that took 9 Chickens, and I was over here thinking everyone was doing it, brother you put it in the thumbnail "take less Sentinels" what's going on? Just curious you hate the Sentinels?... Why? I'm biased towards them because they remind me of many iconic sci-fi vehicles: At-St/ At-Rt/ Aliens Cargo Suit/ Matrix 3 Defenders of Humanity Mech Suits/Any and all mecha. They just represent a single human with power multiplier defending humanity. Let alone they literally are fast, tanky, dmging, Gummy, Respawning, AND they literally buff your entire army. Cmon they are the ultimate Guard Gum. 165 now is insane. They are almost as cheap as 9th ed: 40pts base (50 w/ +hunter killer and +chainsaw). I'm a new player and this inspires me to get on the tournament scene ty. That giant Gamers Guild is near me too so Ima be active there.

I think that's the sign of a healthy game, if top players (and I don't claim to be one) are actively disagreeing, and as Kyle McCord said in my interview with him, we can all be right! I definitely don't hate sentinels, they're actually the model that got me into the Guard back when I started playing, and I ran lists that spammed them. Unfortunately I sold off nearly my entire collection during my long break My main concern with them is that they really don't do that much damage really (though they can spike into vehicles) and take up a LOT of prime deployment real estate and the buff they hand out is... fine. When a lot of units worth bringing are natively rerolling 1s/all hits, it's not as important I'll be surprised if sentinel spam becomes meta but I already have 12 ready to go if it does, and I'd love to see it
