Hey Ando, those black and white Vstar cards you find in random packs are called “Vstar Markers”. They are used in the TCG to indicate when a player has used a Vstar power because you can only use it once per game 😊

For your info, that V-Star card is actually used in play whenever you use a V-Star Power once, similar to GX moves.

Those V star cards are randomly inserted play markers for the Vstar move / ability. You can only use the move once per game, and once you do you have to flip your marker as a visual reminder (like the GX marker).

The v star card is for the game. You place it on the board, your only aloud to use that attack once so once you flip the v star card over you remember you can’t do the attack anymore. Hope this helped!

This is the first time that I've noticed the Venesaur in the background of the charizard v alt art. I think it would be super cool if they were to release a Venesaur V and a Blastoise V featuring similar art, where Venesaur is fighting blastoise and blastoise is fighting charizard. That would beautiful to have the full set of those.

The Vstar placeholder card is used in gameplay to show the Vstar power which can only be used once per game and it used to be difficult to get GX counters at the time as they could only be found in theme decks and etbs. Vstar attacks are basically the GX attacks but for standard format. Once the Vstar attack has been used you flip the Vstar card face down.
