@Xynth223 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that sucks that this was overlooked, but ultimately it isn't that big of a deal. In essence the handful of evolution moments was just another event based picture taking opportunity, so as long as there are plenty of those, which there seem to be, it's all good.
@shadowinkanto99643 жыл бұрын
Damn, figuring out how to evolve a Pokémon was extremely satisfying.. but yeah it doesn't make the game unplayable. Seems like there's a lot of other events to play out
@netweed093 жыл бұрын
Not only that at all. There are now over 200 Pokémon (more than double the original's roster of 80-ish) and while that one just had Mew as and end-game special, this sequel has over 6 Legendries! The evolutions never really were a huge pull for me in the original anyway as you meet evolutionary lines in both games. Though, yes I would rather they had not dropped them. Anyhow, you also get the most beautiful visuals in a Pokémon game ever; I find them even better than Mario Odyssey's honestly
@Xynth223 жыл бұрын
@@netweed09 Yeah, I'm nearing the end of the game now "campaign" now, and I am completely pleased it. The star system alone more than makes up for lack of evolutions since with every Pokemon there are 4 different ways to trigger a picture type with every single one of them. That is way better, and effectively more content, than it simply being an event trigger to check one of 80 ish Pokemon off a list.

@@VanitasVraz That's exactly the point of this game. To bring all the simple yet quirky charm of Pokémon up to date in today's glorious HD visuals. I actually think by only including 200 Pokémon, yet over 6 Legendary Pokémon they've condensed this game into a much more satisfying and fun-packed journey. Some of my favourite gen 5 ones are here, I couldn't be more happier! This even exceeds the original for me, despite all it's nostalgia. This is more than a worthy upgrade, it raises the bar for the series

While Pokkén looks good, the support for the Switch version sadly got dropped way too early. They never addressed for example the awful customization and achievement system. @@PeacepiperF20 Well, it's also not like I needed every piece of clothing but the stuff was just insanely overpriced as if they had ideas to introduce real life currency conversion but got stopped from that bs move. To unlock all of the clothing one would have to play about an hour each day for four years nonstop anyways. XD The titles thing was only odd because there were a few ( I think 1 to 3) that nobody knew how to unlock, not even customer service. Nintendo directs you to the Pokémon folks who direct you to BandaiNamco who then directs you back to Nintendo. Had fun playing through Pokkén and leveled every fighter to 100, only thing that has been impossible for me to get were 2 draws. I always either win or lose a match. That two Pokémon knock each other out happens pretty much never. Even with two players cooperating I couldn't make it happen. Also while the DLC fighters were fun to play with, for their price there should have been at least two more Pokémon.

I'm sure in the next 3 years some talented modders will make it possible. Yuzu and Ryujinx are already really great, so the first step is already done. Someone just needs to get it to render properly stereoscopically (harder than it sounds) and map the headset gyro to the controller gyro input. It wouldn't be as good as a native implementation with head and hand tracking but it would be enough to give the illusion of 3D depth and probably look great.

I thought it was so cool how you would unlock the volcano level by making an electrode explode, and I loved looking for the PKMN signs in the original. Finding that pinsir shadow was the best. I hope there's something like that this time around

About to hit 32 this year and I have never once played the original. I saw a friend play it once, but personally I have no experience with it. Always wondered what was so appealing about the game. I'm tempted to get this one if only to experience what others did back in the day.

I'm excited, but the lack of evolutions and shiny forms and the fact now you have to hunt for certain items makes me not want it as much as the original.

My only complaint is it’s a spin off that’s the same price as sword and shield, I bought it anyway, but it makes more sense to be $40, also I want a VR version

I was never into Pokemon at any point, but I remember playing this at someone’s house back in the day and thought it was fun. I am looking forward to playing this version of it. The updates that you have to know are coming will probably fix some of the minor issues.

You know what I think, I would like if Pokémon Go can do a new GOsnapshot update that a solo PoGo player can take a snapshot of two or three Pokémon in one shot. Not just using the photo editing apps, you know. This will be great a idea for new opportunities for all PoGo fans.

I just love how I can play for a few mins and actually progress in a game, most games that's not enough to do anything. I was gonna hold off on buying it for holiday sales to save a few $... but I saw it in a store I was wandering around and impulse bought.

No evolutions is a bit of a bummer, but everything else sounds great. What about the music? That was a big part of the original Snap for me. Is it any good?
@godaelite3 жыл бұрын
Kinda sad that we lost some of these interactions. I loved the way they implemented the interactions in the first game. Being able to unite three magnemite to evolve into a magneton, throwing charmeleon in the pool of lava or the shellder on the slowpoke tail. Or even saving the jigglypuff from koffing so he could sing at the end of the stage. Such unique ways of evolving, giving another points of view with such personality. Even a pokemon getting mad at you for throwing a pester ball, finding out that a bulbasaur was in fact a ditto transformed. Not that I am disappointed with the game, in fact I already bought it but for sure I hope these interactions can be presented again in the future.
@sackthebastard3 жыл бұрын
There are loads of situations you can create. Lots of Pokémon only appear later in the stage if you do certain things at the beginning.

From what it seems, I think that the 1 to 4 star rating should be changed to "types of photos", because it doesn't seem to reflect the quality of the photo, rather the actions of the Pokemon. It looks like 1 star = Idle Pokemon, 2 star = some kind of action, and so on...

I absolutely love this game. So much nostalgia for me since I played Pokémon Snap on 64 with my older brother and I have been waiting for a next version. It's amazing to me that even my girlfriend, an absolute Pokémon casual really enjoys this game so far. The only things that annoy me so far is that the music is always the same and there is no "going faster through the level" like on 64.
