I really enjoyed watching this build, filtration etc has changed since I’ve built a pond 40 years ago. It makes me feel to start keeping fish again in a custom-made pond.

Going by the sub count and influx of business you guys are having i think you are definitely on to a winner mate. Keeping people interested in koi keeping especially at the beginning is something that needs more attention across the board as education is key, there are a small number of people on KZbin who are capable of capturing people's attention and can deliver the help and expertise required to keep this fantastic hobby alive for all hobbyists at all levels and you my friend are certainly one of them, so thank you for putting the time and effort in.

Oh my gosh they're so cute! Can you tell me the variety of one of them? I have never seen one like it before and I'm not sure if it is a a kohaku or a harawaka, but it has a white doitsu body with red and yellow markings along the sides
@andrewspencer39484 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Enjoyed watching that build. I've learnt a lot. I'm local to you in Middleton Manchester and will definitely visit you soon. I am building my first koi pond and have just bought the same bottom drain. Hows that filter system doing? I think somthing similar for my pond would be ideal?

Cracking looking place you’ve got there pal, wish I was closer. Is it possible to connect both a bottom drain and a skimmer line into one Nexus 220 as I’m struggling for space and budget with my pond build at about 3500 gallon?
@TimWaddington4 жыл бұрын
It’s pointless really mate as you wouldn’t get the right pull from the skimmer
@nigelsiviter18884 жыл бұрын
Quality Nishikigoi is there a reasonable way of running a through the wall type skimmer without the need for a second pump/filter setup, also pal what skimmer would you recommend for liner connection?
@StanTheObserver-lo8rx4 жыл бұрын
Killer pond..but that one screams for a window. Would make a great tropical fish pond...exotic tropical plants. You have cornered the above ground pond market..nobody else on youtube really shows more than just one - their own -of various technicality. What's your name? I haven't caught it. Thanks.

Looks great, love the setup. Can I ask, you mention you wouldn’t run this fast in customers pond, if this was a customers pond what would you run the pump flow at? What flow rate would you run on this pond with a nexus 220 please? Mine is very similar to this running a nexus 220 and 18,000 variable pump. Pond is Outside, I am currently running at lowest setting around 6500 for winter and filter is okay for 10k would you run at 10k in summer or leave the slower flow? Pond is 4m x 3m (just over 10,000 litres)
@TimWaddington4 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, I really never run the Nexus at the full rate, which is 2200 gallons per hour. I like running mine (I have 8 lol) at around 1600/1700 per hour. I like the retention time. That’s why I add the bead system to get some great flow around the pond!

Great video and great content. Thank you for all the information and eye candy. With all the emphasis on quarantine systems, how do you disinfect your tubs and nets so that you stay clean from the quarantine to a pond, or from pond to pond?
@TimWaddington4 жыл бұрын
When we have a new shipment every pond has its own net and bowl. The pond has a net and bowl just for that pond too. We do testing when they first arrive too so we can tell very fast.

Love the build mate. Just a quick one if I can mate? I am on with building a 1500 gallon pond and wondering what lph pump to use coming off a nexus 220? And do you have any recommendations on a pump? Thanks karl 👍

@koihellas4 жыл бұрын
Good Morning how often do you clean Nexus filters? I know it is an easy process but i would like to know because in the quarantine you have many fish so i suppose it becomes very dirty often. Also in the blue oval tank what is in there? K1? or is it a quartz filter?
@TimWaddington4 жыл бұрын
New Koi require fresh water and little and often food. When they first arrive we clean the Eazy section every day. When the fish are strong, every 3 days is fine.
@koihellas4 жыл бұрын
@@TimWaddington the blue oval tank what is in there? K1? or is it a quartz filter? If you stop using UV will the water become green?
@TimWaddington4 жыл бұрын
KOI Hellas it’s Micro K1 media in the filter. Yes of course the water would go green without the UV, on a pond this new anyway.
