NEW: President Washington Fan Kits and HP1/HP2 Extension Speaker Options

Welcome to the M0OGY Radio and Antenna Review channel.
Yes they have finally come!!
The President Washington ACMD901 fan cooler kits.
I also decided after many years of using a Motorola extension speaker to opt for a pair of President extension speakers to try, the HP2 for my Washington and the smaller HP1 for general use.
NOTE: In previous videos of my President Washington tests, I stated over the extended period of use "Hammering" the transceiver on 10M SSB I had no cooling issues at all, without using forced cooling, but relying on natural heat dispensation through the heat sink device.
I still stand by that statement.
I'm sure GPE would not market a transceiver, without spending many hours testing it is stock form.
I do think running 80 Watts + on full duty cycle Frequency Modulation (FM) mode of operation would be a different matter though.
I decided to wait until GPE Launched the correct fan kits, rather than chance fitting an after-market product.

The safety grill is nice. When you touch with your finger in the running fan your radio kills you. 😂 I hear the fans in a video from a spanish operator, i find it is loud. The fans must be dimmable for 70 %. It cool the radio but not so loud. It needs a electrical piece with some Ohm in the power cord. I dont know the right word, my english is bad.

Can you tell me the characteristics of the cooling fans mounted on the President Washington?

Surely by fitting these fans this would invalidate the radios warranty as u have to open the radio up.

Those little fans are noisy. I don't even know what to use max for. strength. 50W is enough.

@@m0ogy No, but I know how those little fans work when I put them on something else. They buzz a lot, but cool almost nothing. You will see. In my opinion, this is not well resolved at all. The cooler should have been a little bigger. The competition handled it better (AT6666PRO).

No they are quite running brushless devices , crank the AF Gain up😂

I also wanted to order the fans but had to put them in the racks. I already had exactly the same ones and even the protective grille 😉but what I wanted to say is that for the price of the device you could have included the fans!

My thoughts, are it would increase the cost, the mad thing in my mind (as a radio collector) it won't fit in the original box with the fans fitted, so could cause an issue with shipping (I bet I'm in a minority even thinking of this).🤓

@@m0ogy Yes, that's true, but the other thing that annoys us here in Germany is that if President had released the Washington and George at the same time, I would have had the Washington, which would have cost €29 more! Now I'm getting the CRT 9900 Pro or Plus, it's almost the same 😉

@@m0ogy Yes, you don't understand it, first of all the price is OK, I could buy it, but why did the George come out first and then Washington? Was that intentional, to get another good deal? And then the fans could have been added, I tested the CRT 9900 Pro and yes, it works great and the inside is almost the same as the President 😉
