... can you clarify - with this interface (and really any AXE I/O interface) you don't need the Tonex Capture hardware (box). Is that correct? The advantage of this new "one" interface is the lower price, but in reality it has a reduced # of inputs. It has bundled software (but you'd get an expanded version of that with the purchase of a Tonex pedal). With that in mind, and respectfully, why are you considering this such a break through?

One thing that people need to consider of between Axe i/o One and Solo is the dynamic range, Axe Solo have 117db while Axe One only 108 db on instrument input
@Rake5k Жыл бұрын
Finally an audio interface with variable input impedance. If you're modelling a low impedance pedal like a fuzz face or a tube screamer, it's actually the only way to get the correct sound and feel. Their modelling stuff is really good too, awesome that it's bundled. If I didn't have an interface yet, this would definitely be the one I would get. Thanks for the review, Jason!

As always, I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos-one question for you. I just got myself into the world of the Tonex Pedal, which can function as an interface. Is there a benefit of adding the Axe I/O One in conjunction with the Tonex pedal, or will it be redundant? Thank you.
@JasonSadites6 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoy the videos! I wouldn't say you need an external interface unless you were planning to create your own tone model captures. Tonex Pedal is an interface but I wouldn't say a "full featured" interface. Really well depend on what your needs are. Hope that is helpful :-)

Great great job Jason, as usual👍👍. Just a question: I’ve just bought one Axe I/O One and wonder if I can go straight from the soundcard to the FOH (my very simple gear: tuner-NUX Cerberus-Tonex pedal-Axe I/O one). Thank for your time and your answer. Have a nice time and keep on making this high quality content and clarifying videos!

Came straight to your channel as soon as I saw they released it!! I wonder how TONEX capturing works with just one input! Do you have to switch from guitar input to MIC input in the middle of the process? (I'm asking before watching, will probably edit later😅) EDIT No need to use guitar input!! Great!! This settles it! My new live rig: AXE I/O One + iPhone (Amplitube+TONEX) + a MIDI controller pedalboard (any recommendations besides Behringer FCB1010?)
@JasonSadites Жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks! It is a great little interface. The guitar instrument input was never needed to actually complete the capture process, only to audition the tones after. So with AXE I/O One, you would simple use the IK audio files in Tonex to create and audition the tone models during creation and then when complete simply swap your mic input to your guitar input and rock 🤘 Hope that helps!

Less expensive and gives everyone all the tools to use Tonex to create tone models. Pretty simple actually.

@@JasonSadites Other than removing the extra input in Axe I/O solo the question is what corners did they cut to get "$170 off," Otherwise why didn't they just drop the price on the current lineup instead of creating yet another interface they have to support? I'm all for lowering the price of entry point here as keeping the reamp/capture ability in a cheap interface is great (though I also expect a flood of poor sounding captures on tone net as previously you had to be fairly invested in gear purchases to create them). I own both the full I/O and ToneX Pedal - so don't need it personally but my interest is related to others I advise gear purchases to.

@ArtoftheDial Жыл бұрын
No, the ToneX pedal does not have re-amping or profiling capabilites. There is no Mic Input on the ToneX pedal. It would have been amazing if they had that in such a small form factor. But if you want both a pedal and the ability to make your own profiles - you are going to be investing in 2 pieces of equipment (or more if your Audio interface isn't one of the few that has a re-amp out) where you would then need Re-Amp DI box in addition to your interface.
@Sylvain44 Жыл бұрын
@@ArtoftheDial I'm not asking about microphone capture, but instrument level capture (pedal or preamp). The pedal does have an instrument output and input so it should work?
@ArtoftheDial Жыл бұрын
@@Sylvain44 Ahh, I haven't techincally tried it. But I can confirm that if you hookup the TONEX Pedal as an interface for the ToneX computer app that when you got to the modeler section it will allow you to select TONEX as the interface. That said, the diagram suggests you need to hook up a reamplication device between the tonex out and the stomp box you want to setup. I haven't tested the TONEX output so I don't know the impedance and level situation if it is doing something that is different than what you would get after the Re-Amp box.
@Sylvain44 Жыл бұрын
@@ArtoftheDial I can confirm that it works, I was able to use the Tonex Pedal to capture my amp + load box 🥳 not ideal though because it only has one output so you can't compare directly the amp to the capture.
