Hi Scott I continue to pray for Teddy you & Kate. As well as the medical team for their wisdom & the right treatments for Teddy. As an adult with recent swallowing issues. I was in the hospital three times from the end of November through the end of December for aspiration pneumonia. I have dysphasia of the esophagus. I also have very many texture issues when eating. I can totally understand what Teddy is going through as well as the frustration for you and Kate.

Poor little Teddy. When Ted said “yucky” I wonder if he had a bad taste in his mouth from the meds? Some antibiotics cause a metallic taste in the mouth and it’s awful. Also, I think your idea about food is absolutely spot on but maybe not when he’s feeling poorly. I don’t know, you know best and I can’t imagine coping with all the trauma the three of you deal with. And all children can be little monsters no matter how placid they are normally. It’s really challenging I know. Looking forward to better days for you all. 💕

Exactly. Kids will not starve themselves unless something is really wrong. And the milk also can fill them up Amy make them not hungry. So it’s smart of them to not give him so much milk. Give him water instead. Also I think setting a time on his meals is right. If they don’t eat within a certain time they probably aren’t hungry

You can waffle as much as you like it means we are doing something constructive by just listening, don’t worry we all realise you tend to show teddy when he is happy we realise he as times when he his the opposite but you mom and dad do your best to help him and distract him you are both wonderful and a great team l now l sound like a broken record but it is not broken as l fixed it with supper glue which in teddy’s word is amazing sending lots of love and huggles to you all.❤❤❤❤

Dear Bridge fam, you reminded us today Scott that not every day is a day in “paradise”. It’s real and it’s ugly sometimes and those are the times you can lean our way. Our super Ted handles his challenges with humour and bravery most of the time - melt downs are his way to express frustration when he can’t explain what’s going on, especially with hunger/food/med conflict. Honesty is one thing social media is sorely lacking these days. Everyone wants to present to the world that their life is perfection which then of course makes others wonder what the heck is wrong with them or their lives that they can’t “get it together” and as “perfect” as people show on social media!!! Don't push the food as he will feel your anxiety, kids will eat when they want to, just put the food down but don't make any remarks if he doesn't want it remove it. Just keep his fluids up and let him decide what he wants and when.I like you think its his meds from a mum of 4 grown up boys who remembers the struggles of poorly kids ,please give yourselves a pat on the back you really are awesome parents

2of my daughters suffered bad nose bleeds which effected their appetite and textures and it still does and they teenagers now.i just go with how they felt at the time.I didn’t force anything but eventually they ate but only little and might not of always been the right things but it was food…teddy will eat,he’s been through so much his little system needs to settle…try not to worry it’s just a stage that kids go through…he’s such a joy to watch I love your videos…your just such a beautiful family…and so funny Scott 😂

I love what you said..to live your life and try and treat Teddy as normal as possible..once again our stories are different..but my daughter was in pain with her kidney before first transplant and needed meds.. a lot of meds..but I treated her as normal as possible..we went on walks to the park..I had to try different foods with her..omg she was picky..still is at 38..lol As parents we try and protect our children from their illness and bring the positive.. I love that you're using a hand saw 😂 As always Super Teddy and both of you are in my thoughts and prayers ❤❤

Hi Scott and Katie, I just wondered if times like this when Teddy needs nourishment but won’t eat, if syringing bone broth through his tube is an option. It’s nourishing and easy to digest. I’m a vegetarian but recognise the value of other diets. I’m a grandmother but my whole life have been unable to eat when on antibiotics and have needed them for lifesaving illness. I am just so in awe of you both. No parents could do better. Big hug to you both!❤

Hi from Scotland. I have been watching your videos since last year and thing you and Katie are amazing . I love how you call baby super Ted. I was just thinking of parents who are starting chemo and are terrified of all the meds and procedures. You and Katie are brilliant and I was wondering if you had thought about writing a self help book or pamphlet for other parents . I think you and Katie could do this as you and especially Katie understand the procedures and can explain to parents that there feeling’s are okay to have and they are not being being selfish for loving their child and being scared. Years ago my daughter was I’ll and I came out of the hospital room as I couldn’t keep the tears away and my husband was at sea . Unfortunately the nurse called me selfish and to buck up. I am so glad some things have changed . Your family are so strong and loving . Definetly dinasaur ice lollies Teddy would love them. Love from Scotland.

You and your wife’s insight is awesome with your little boy. Keep going strong! Teddy is a toddler, even if he wasn’t a cancer patient, they can be the most lovely toddlers and then tyrants! I think you are absolutely correct about Teddy and won’t it be wonderful to just see a tantrum because he is just acting his age? It will happen soon enough. Luckily, I’m a grandmother of a granddaughter who just turned two in January. She acts up for her parents sometimes but never for us! Haha because all we get to do is have no responsibility except to play with her.

Just a suggestion Scott, my daughter had IV antibiotics when young for bone infection. She developed thrush right through her body which took more than a year to get rid of. Now she almost always refuses antibiotic treatment but when absolute necessity she uses a probiotic as the abs make her so sick, ask dietician if that would be appropriate for Ted. AB’s remove all normal flora from digestive tract.

Hi Bridge family. Firstly, Scott 10/10 for your DIY skills, though I must admit I was hoping for some Frank Spencer moments. Katie and Scott, please accept this as a tip for Super Ted and his missing appetite. Have you thought about him helping in the kitchen? For example, helping to beat an egg for scrambling an egg for breakfast. It is only an idea. Also, having a fungal infection can make the mouth very sore, and the tummy can feel bloated and full. Scott, keep waffling it gives a real and true representation of the journey you and the family find yourself on. Keep on fighting little cub. Love and prayers ❤

Scott I know you don’t post your videos in real time and I hope Teddy’s eating has improved, as I know how worrying it was. Just a thought, if he gets problems with food textures and gagging switch to smooth textured foods for a while. Easy to swallow, such as porridge, rice pudding, custard, mashed potato and gravy, puréed veg, meat, fish etc. Almost like baby food again. Might help. Sending love to the cutest cub and his amazing parents, and to lovely gentle Willow. ❤❤❤❤ xxx

I went through the same issue of my child not eating, I talked to the doctor, told him, every bit of advice I had been given, by grandparents trying to help, he said vitamins would help the grandparents more than her, he said don't offer her food anytime when she's hungry she'll ask, 48hrs. later I had put her to bed, and she still had not ask for food, an hr. later I woke her up, and made her eat, I couldn't take it any longer I know Teddy won't eat for the antibiotics, but it scares parents.

I was on one of those same antibiotics and it made me feel so horrible that as a 43 year old woman my mom had to force me to take it every time and I cried. The side effects were horrendous. I could not even look at food. I ate NOTHING the whole time I was on it.
