I used to have a mariner blue 1990 Miata that I also saved. I absolutely loved that car. Drove it all over California and one day a truck rear ended me… and after that it smelt like gas inside while driving. Insurance totaled it and to this day I miss that thing and will definitely buy one more someday.

Nice! I did the same thing a couple years ago, I got mine (a 96) for $100. Then spent about $2,000 to make it nice again. I actually have a spare 1.8 engine laying around I'd love to donate to you to keep some cost down. (And probably some more bits you might need taking up space in my garage)

How did u find a Miata for that much ?
@deadpedalgarage64574 жыл бұрын
@@NORTHSIDESHORTY59 Back when I worked at a parts store a customer came in and was telling one of my co-worker's that he was wanting to get rid of an old parts car he had. It was a 96 miata he didn't think was worth fixing and offered to sell it cheap because my co-worker drove a miata. That co-worker told the guy he wouldn't have space and that I had a miata as well. He said he'd sell it to me for $200 and when I went to buy it he couldn't meet me when we agreed, but since I had already showed up he would drop the price to $100 to get it the next day. I have some videos of it on my channel if you wanted to see what it looked like to make it that cheap.

Wow, I have watched a couple of the later episodes as I inherited a cream puff '94 from my mother-in-law with 65k miles the same Blue color as this one. Then this episode showed up and I cannot believe how much work you guys put into this thing. I am going to have to watch the entire build now. I've just improved the suspension on mine with a FM Koni 2.5 package and frame rails and upgraded the interior with new console, stereo and Stack gauges. Other than some assorted doodads it's bone stock. I like your rollbars....hmmmmm.

It's getting harder to find an unmolested NA Miata. Unfortunately they got targeted by kids, who bought them up cheap, molest the crap of them with engine swaps, junk body parts, gutted interiors, and then in a short time, they all show up parted out. The Miata has the most value and usability when put back to factory stock condition. And that's what most buyers want. If you find one like that, they're expensive.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers3 жыл бұрын
I agree, however those "kids" also helped bring the car to where it is today. Their support helped continue the aftermarket and kept the old roadster relevant.
