I have a 71 Maverick and yours look to be the same color has mine based on the color under the hood. I still have the original 170 straight 6 with the 3 on the tree.

The Maverick is like the poor man's Mustang. You might want to look into the Shelby Mod...I believe it also applies to Mavericks. They relocate the upper control-arms down 1" to improve handling. The additional 1" of clearance looks like it would be appreciated. As always, Love the content 😎

Reminds me of a 1st gen Mustang, the engine bay I mean. Wonder if one of the Mustang kits that eliminates the shock towers could be adapted? I dig these things...especially with GM power. lol

Go up and forward with the engine! Idk why you didn't do that. Should give you room for the headers George got, or stock manifolds. Easier than building custom headers, that you haven't done before. It would be different if you build custom ones all the time, like I do, but why make it hard?

Moving the engine would require cutting the floor and building a trans crossmember. Watch for episode 2 to see what we do
