Luna is adorable! Thank you so much for adopting a shelter dog! Some things to consider would be getting all of her shots before her interacting with dogs outside the home and being on public floors (pet store, dog park, ext) Sleep when she sleeps, typically dogs don’t like to go potty where they sleep so crate training Luna will help with potty training and will provide a safe space. Luna might benefit from a food tray since she is taking the food out of the bowl 😊 Taste of the Wild is what I use and is a good brand. Spaying is also important, I’m so glad Luna has a cousin to play with. I am so excited for you guys! 🐶🐾

Good luck with training Luna...never give up! it will be worth it in the end. Two many puppies are dumped in the country because they weren't working on training with the pup full time. Our son found a 9 month old Springer Spaniel on a dirt road/he was so shocked as it's tail was clipped/chubby and clean. He went to homes along the road/put her picture on social media etc. He finally got a private message telling him the family that had the dog "dumped" the dog out of their car because it wouldn't train. She is now 3 years old/still has problems when she is on a rug/carpet...her family loves her enough to go without rugs. She has two bigger older sisters who welcomed her into their family/5 children/Mom/Dad. She has no accidents as she will come over to hop around telling her family it's time to go outside. She’s adorable 🥰 Don’t let her meet any more new dogs though. She needs to be fully vaccinated before that, or she can get extremely sick. Vaccinations against Parvo, Distemper, puppy flue, and a few more things. (Parvo and Distemper vaccinations are a must, there are no cure for those diseases, the pup has to fight them off themselves and a many die from it sadly) You start vaccinations from 6-8 weeks I think. Then lastly rabies vaccination. Get a really good pet insurance as well, since you choose the breed you have it’s best to get her covered early. Pugs, Frenchies and most flat nosed dogs tend to have a lot of health issues coming up. Also when switching foods go very slow, 2 weeks minimum 4-6 weeks is ideal (depending on the pup) the same when introducing new treats, or she’ll end up with explosive diarrhoea. Acana is also a great brand of dog food, if the one you got didn’t work. All lo so have her on a feeding schedule morning, lunch and dinner. Leaving food out all day is not good, bacteria starts to build up in the food fast, plus keeping a schedule will make it easier to potty train her, since they often do number 2 after eating. Good luck with your new baby girl 🥰 ❤️

@@lauslora6511 More than likely cause it was a cheap nasty brand. I had many people with the my girls litter decide to not take the food I gave them because it was the cheapest the store offered and they wanted healthier option for their baby. First and foremost it is a dog and not a baby or accessory. You should have got her a little harness and leash to teach her to walk and run. Make sure she gets her first injections and keep her inside for fourteen days. Just bring her out to toilet. Unfortunately these dogs have a lot of health problems and to be honest she should still be with her mother and litter until twelve weeks. Don’t let the young children handle her as she’s a dog and not a toy.

I worry that Ariana has not educated herself enough on how to care for a dog. I would suggest training classes because they do so much for the pet owner and it will teach her how to communicate with her dog. I also hope she is aware of the medical bills and food costs each month, owning a dog can run you broke if you aren’t well off and I know that she is taking all of the responsibilities into her own hands. I’d just be prepared for random expenses such as surgeries or illnesses. I am 20 years old and I got my first dog in December, I have had to go through a lot of major life changes including working 2 job in order to pay all of my expenses and keep my new baby happy. Regardless, congratulations Ariana, I hope you learn a lot on your new parenting journey!

Doggies won't pee where they sleep. She's adorable 🥰

Most of the time, when my puppy was little we crate trained her and she slept in the crate and night and for a while she usually at least peed it it. After 1 time she got covered in her poo she stopped and just a couple months ago she started sleeping in bed with me at night. She is turning 8 months on April 24th

I was thinking the same.I'm glad someone said something, but I'm sure Crystal or Aaron knows that.
@tweaky27852 жыл бұрын
most puppies will do it, unless you train them not to, espescially if the crate is big enough, they don't need to lie in their pee then. That's why it's also adviced to not buy a bigger crate then it needs, because it will pee and poop in it

Something to ponder now 🤔 my little guy didn't pee in his but then he didn't spend alot of time in it . I always refered to it as his "good boy house" he goes in it if I have to contain him or put him in there for his safety. Say if we're bringing in groceries. LOL my baby is paper trained . He just turned 4 and he's a Yorkie. I can imagine a puppy peeing in the kennel now. They're so young 🌱 they don't know the difference. Have a good night 🌉

Just a recommendation on dog pads for pity training I wouldn't recommend using them inside bc she will be familiar with using the bathroom in the house one of our rescues was trained that way and he goes anywhere that's familiar to where he was trained just a suggestion and hope this helps 😊

Obviously they’re meant to be used inside, silly. They’re to prevent them from going potty on the floor inside. 🤦♀️
@jus.me.tanzks58342 жыл бұрын
Ya I would agree my parents rescued a dog who still uses them a year later lol if you take it awY he still pees where they were. I never used them for my dog but I also had time to let me dog outside whenever all day. I suppose they’d be helpful if your gone for long periods of time and the dog is left alone. But I think it’d be hard to transition to them going outside if they’re used to going inside In my opinion it’d be easier to just them outside to begin with😂🤦🏼♀️ or have someone else let them out

@@jus.me.tanzks5834 For how long are you allowed to leave your dog alone in the US? Where I live the limit is 6 hours (if they haven’t lowered it more the last years).
@jus.me.tanzks58342 жыл бұрын
@@malinpeh 4-6 hours for an adult depends if they have training or not I’d imagine a puppy is less

Raisins, apple seeds, pretty much all seeds from fruit. And sugar free gum! The fake sugar in it will kill a dog.
