Lucy needs a friend to play with. Harry and Ginny are getting older, and Lucy always wants to play but they want to just relax and enjoy their twilight years. We found an add for a gorgeous Aussie pup, so we decided to just go for it. Why think about things when you can just go spontaneously do things?! :)
So, now we have a new member to the family. Welcome to the pack, Rosie!
Enjoy 10 minutes of Puppy TV, and some garden/pond/honey updates as well. I wanted to include some gardening clips, just incase we get some puppy watchers from the general youtube community, maybe we can turn them onto permaculture practices! I'm always looking to covert nature lovers to permaculture!
Don't miss both puppy clips, I think the last half of the video is my favorite clips of video I've ever produced.

Lucky dog! One of the mellowest puppies I've ever seen...especially for that breed. I'm glad you showed the food forest, too. While the pup is adorable, I really need and appreciate the inspiration of the gardens.

When I heard the 2nd song (the last half of the video) I knew amI had to put that in. There's one lyric about being scared of clouds, and I tried to line up a little shot of her scared of Ginny. I thought that was really adorable.

I'm smiling ☺ Rosie is going to love her life you have given her! I have an 8yr old mini aussie Juliette! And a 4 yr old Lab Apollo! They're not liking the snap peas. Yet! Enjoy your day!

Lucy won't touch the snap peas, but Rosie goes crazy for them. I have to feed her only a tiny bit, as she gets used to her new place new water source, etc.

I love watching your videos. As a retired veterinarian, watching you feed a new puppy all the produce on her first day home is a recipe for diarrhea. She's stressed, new water source, different environment...One generally eases new puppies diets slowly over to a new diet. Just sayin'...

Will do, thanks for the tip! We only gave her a fee snap peas. The cucumber she ate a few bites and got bored with it. She also came from a farm and the breeder said she loved their sugar snap peas, so I figured it should be okay. Definitely appreciate the advice from an expert! Much love ❤️

Yes, you are very fortunate little Rosie. Not only a wonderful family, plenty of food, luxurious dog palace complete with your own bed and plenty of hands but also a very exciting garden where you can race around in and plenty to dig up. Don't worry about Lucy being miffed, she'll get over it soon enough, but only when Keith reconfirms that she is still very special. Good thing you have a name. Ann here would nearly call you Hortensia (Spanish for Hydrangea).

This is a "just in case you missed your baby's first words" video :) That pup definitely fills the bill with as of yet undocumented details... She is so eloquent, but the literature falls short... What she's immersed in, right now, will be her "normal"... I'm sorry, my empathy falls short sometimes, but goes all the way with White Fang and Call of the Wild...

Wait a minute. Did I miss the episode in which you discuss getting rid of your bees that you invested in only a year ago? I'm confused. Why the change?
@CanadianPermacultureLegacy
@CanadianPermacultureLegacy Жыл бұрын
Because studies have shown that they can displace native wild bees, and native wild bee colonies crashed last year more than honey bees. I'm just waiting for the my mentor to find another property like mine, and not just some random corn field that gets sprayed. That's why it's taking some time to find them a new home.

Hey my friend :) Had a little question. So every years in my garden I have huge ant nest in it. I'm always very happy to have them because they are obviously good for my soil health and they are very aggressive lol, even I can't stand next to a nest without getting bitten so its a great defense system for anything wandering around the nest. But this year one of the nest, the ants are literally eating some of my bush beans stems. They eat the cambium and outer bark so the plant quickly die. I was kinda hoping predators would show up but its a huge nest and they are capable to defend themselves, the only predator here is me I think. When I noticed that, I disturbed the nest with my hands, and I will repeat the process until they decide they have enough of me but I was wondering if you had personal experience with such ants and what was your method of dealing with them. Cheers man and happy growing.

I've also got ant-related problems, and they've spread to my annuals this season. Found them about a week ago munching on my low-hanging tomatoes and moving larvae by the tomatoes base. Got any ideas for incentivizing them to move elsewhere?

@@Im-just-Stardust Yeah, it's especially annoying as it's only my second year as a gardener and they've half-eaten all but one of the few red tomatoes I've got thus far. We haven't had the heat needed for the vast majority to ripen.

@@CanadianPermacultureLegacy Mind if I ask a similar yet different question? I'm currently enrolled at mech.eng. uni ;) so got no space to create a food forest/permaculture-esque environment at the moment. However, rest assured that it'll be high up on the to-do list as I move out. That being said, I'm growing increasingly more anxious of pest invasions related to agriculture and permaculture. Besides lots and lots of different ants, we've got invasive spanish slug all over the country, they're everywhere and there are tons of them! I remove* dozens of them almost every evening from my 10~ish m^2 raised beds yet they keep on coming. One can solve that on a small scale by putting up a thin copper plate along the outside of the bed that the slugs don't want to cross. However, doing that on an acre/hectare level. I don't see how? Or is it that once you hit a certain size of food forest, the problems subside through natural means? We mostly have plantation forests around here, which could be a contributing factor to invasive species gaining such a strong foothold. (After further reading, wouldn't ya know. They seem to have parasites in them that kill/injure/inconvenience hedgehogs etc. that are one of their few natural predators. 🫠) Got any ideas? Or should I try my luck with finding someone over here that's as well versed as yourself on the topic? Greetings from the other side of the north Atlantic! 😄
