This was one of the (C)oolest moments in the NYC Subway to happen to begin February, and it’s so amazing to see that we now have articulated subway cars! And it’s cool to see that the A and C are the lines to overall begin with R211s!

I was there on the first day of February when I found out that they were going to debut their R211T into service on the (C) Line. As an off duty railroad emoployee I was excited to post the video on my KZbin Channel and pics on my IG/FB. As always great job for posting from trains around the country and the globe as it's so fitting that my name begins with the (C) 👏👌

I like the open gangways and the springy hose things outside of the open gangways, but the windows are on the small side, and I hate those garishly green LED strips.

They need to find a solution for whats preventing the running of the open gangway trains on certain express lines due to the inability to execute the MTA procedure of looking down between cars when emergency brakes are activated and there’s no clearance for the conductor climb down to walk both sides of the track to check for the obstruction.

If you have seen the real latest one. Half of the new C cars were glitched with the L train symbol instead of the C and saying Last Stop. Didn’t even have announcements and had to be taken out of service

Anyone notice that 4040-4044 has the white color rolling walls on the inside and 4050-4054 has the exposed bellows in the gangway connection? It has me wondering if they're testing what way to finish the interior between both sets.

You’re exactly correct. They’ve built them both ways because they want to test the designs in the real world to see what they like better, or which stands up better to the amount of use and abuse that these trains get. I believe they’re calling them hard shell and soft shell.
