You just earned my subscription good sir. I just passed my exam on 1st try. Joined brokerage and feeling OVERWHELMED. Did some advertising and got a hit but my broker partnered me with someone else who was new and it took 5 days for them to email my opportunity the listing agreement which means they basically waited a week for nothing and found another agent. I was PISSED bc my broker didnt tell me about the MLS until two weeks before it was due so i had to hustle up $1200 ASAP, but im ME, so God opened that RKO Outta Nowhere thankfully. But yeah, i LEARNED A LOT…QUICK! But ill take the KNOWLEDGE over the small $ i would have made. NOW I KNOW who not to count on in my brokerage and the broker is no longer there. IM FINNA START WINNING!✊🏾

Hi Norissa! I began in this field in august 2021. Its January now. It has been rough. I say 5. Percent good, 95 percent bad. In 2 days i have a closing my first deal. I have to admit- not excited. Just an “oh well”. But i like it and want to continue….hope others who have begun have had great success.. thank you.

Nori.V thank you Nori. I can tell you here in NY the only conversations seasoned agents want to have are how to gain for themselves while hurting others. This has been my experience. When i came into this field i did not know it was such cut throat. Nonetheless, I have learned but I don’t trust. I hope as time goes on and gain experience I can teach new agents what I have learned So they can grow. Nori, Could you share what has been your most “overwhelming” experiences? Thank you.

My experience was, I thought I could make a friend and learned quickly that I couldn’t in this business unless I’ve sold something. I feel there is enough to go around for everybody and if you done share the secret someone else will and or I’ll just find out on my own. I feel the business is so cut throat Bc almost everyone is money hungry.

Nori.V hi. Absolutely. No friends-no one wants to be your friend. A lot of drunkenness though. Agents are big on alcoholism and give gifts of alcohol to each other. The thing is one needs to include those who don’t drink or have had friends/family who have died b/c of a drunken driver. This is sort of dismissed in this field. I agree about money. This is what drives and keeps agents happy. Sadly inside-it is emptiness. I believe many of those who say “i have been doing this 30+ years” should retire. And cease from saying 30+ years. They are just hurting themselves implying - they are ancient in years.

I have a formula for that. It's color coding your calendar with the things that make you money vs the things that cost you/dont make you money. Use that to evaluate your daily actions.

Still not telling the whole story. New agents NEED to know the costs that they must pay to be an agent. MLS, Board, Broker fees, Sentri-lock. Things you have to pay even if you aren’t making any money in deals. No MLS you can’t even complete a deal if you get one. You don’t realize how much money you have to put in constantly before even making $1. I would suggest if you have a main job don’t quit until you get a few deals under you because your gonna need a few months to float until then settlement checks come in.
