Does the hose and splitter come with the machine? Or do you have to buy them separately Also what finish did you use on the stool? It looks lovely
@JimsonMakes7 ай бұрын
You need to purchase the splitter separately. I finished the stool with Plastikote Gloss polyurethane varnish ( spray can ). 2 coats , light sand between coats.

A simple tip - don't cut round bowl blanks! Cut them with straight cuts to make octagons instead; it is simple to turn the octagons to round once on the lathe. This avoids the problem of consistent curved cuts altering the set of your blade teeth, as described in the video.

Yes I started doing that

Good morning Jim. Another interesting video. I do Like Record Power machinery and the people at Yandles could not be more helpful. Just a shame it’s a four hour drive 🌞

Yes Yandles is a great shop. Everyone one is very friendly and knowledgeable and they have a great relationship with Record Power. It is a 2.5 hour trip for me but well worth it.

I was looking at the 350 Sabre but the 300 appears to address one of its failings - the dust collection.
@JimsonMakes2 ай бұрын
I must say I have been incredibly impressed with this machine, punches well above it's weight.

@@JimsonMakes I ended up buying the 350, after deciding I can live with the dust collection issue until the warranty expires, then I'll modify it to be more effective. I'm very happy with the 350 so far.

Hi can I ask you in your opinion and experience using a bandsaw would the sabre 300 be ok if your disabled as in all the adjustments raising and lowering the blade guard with the measurement scale on it are easy to move and blade changes are easy. I’ve got a 8” lumberjack wish I never bought it but I’m new to woodworking still doing my shed inside. But I just thought I would ask you as you have far more experience than me as I can only cut sticks. Cheers Steve 👨🏼🦽👨🏼🦽

Hi Steve. Sorry for the late reply. I think the Sabre 300 is the easiest bandsaw I have had for adjustments and blade changing. bandsaw blade changing is always a bit fiddly but the guide block system is excellent and quick. The size of the machine is small enough that most adjustments should be within reach and you could always mount it on a different base to make it lower.
