I’m painting my Trench Pilgrims now. I’m really enjoying what has been printed this far.

I'm excited for these but I have had problems with the Official models being a bit fragile, models such as the Stigmatic Nuns with Axe/Mace have incredibly fragile weapon shafts, as long as these dont have super fragile stuff ill be happy. Ive actually considered printing them at 32mm scale instead of 28mm to avoid models breaking.
@JaredCadman10 күн бұрын
I think they’re meant to be at 32mm scale
@Scotty86doo10 күн бұрын
@JaredCadman well then the default file size of the models on MMF are wrong because they are at 25mm
@JaredCadman10 күн бұрын
@@Scotty86doo I dunno since I got the physical minis. But all the info is saying 32mm.

Maybe use a resin strengthener or whatever they are called mate 👌🏼 I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it makes the resin more flexible when printed and cured. Which has resulted in a good friend of mine having not broken a single mini he has printed

@SpiritStoneWarrior94-yx3gs yea my ABS like 3.0 elegoo is decent but I should probably mix a little of the more flexible stuff into it

Good heavens, I'm stiving for fine-scale in my 1/76 railway figures that by far are cleaner and finer detail than what your revewing here and they are half the size. They want to go up aginst GW with tat like that, the rules had better be good. From a purley resin production view point and I do this for a living, that's 2021 quality. Sorry guys but it had to be said.
@shanepatrick45346 күн бұрын
Really? Have you printed any TC miniatures at home and seen the detail for yourself?
@thebritishengineer80276 күн бұрын
@shanepatrick4534 No just going from the review sites. The simple reason I don't offer my own stuff to print at home I use custom resin mixes and a lot of it is machine specific. Certain assemblies print more reliably on certain machines currently I'm running 4 models of printer with duplicates so that's a big ask of modellers.

@@thebritishengineer8027 Which review sites?
@thebritishengineer80276 күн бұрын
@@shanepatrick4534 Bitzbox, GK3 3D printing, SKS Hobby.. Maybe I'm being a little unfair as I use my own resin mixes that deliver a better finish/surface detailing. The premise of the system is great, print your own stuff and that is brilliant, but that idea will always fall short against models specifically designed for a specific type of resin & printer. I do have a model I’m designing that goes up against a GW favourite, it’s far more detailed and from the few that have seen it. “Oh that makes the ……… look like shit” a quote. My own goal was producing a 3D with parts that looked like the were kitted. And I checked that box. I am thinking of releasing some models in parallel to trench crusade, from an archive from years back. Depends upon time avaialble.

@@thebritishengineer8027 So you've never printed them? Interestingly, they have incredible detail that I picked up just fine with my 20 micron resolution printer. Do you have any sort of studies that show exactly how one mini would print better on one resin printer or another with similar resolutions, or are these your conclusions?
