It's going to be a LONG time before we see another group like RV again. Lee Soo Man was very careful when he put these girls together. They all have such different voices that blend SO well together. 5 girls sound like a whole choir. Especially when they harmonize, there isn't another group that sounds better.

It's hilarious: Irene is actually the Main Rapper, but it's so easy to forget because of that gorgeous singing voice. For me, I always get surprised when Joy raps, even though she and Yeri are Lead Rappers. Such a great group!

Yeah. As a Rapper, Irene is under-rated and severely under-utilized. She then also does not get enough Vocal lines 'because she is the Main Rapper'. So we really do not get to hear enough form her either way. SM needs to go one way or the other because trying to be both is hurting their Idols, and therefore hurting their groups.

Even when Yeri joined, Joy was was still the lead rapper. But Joy's vocals suddenly improved by leaps and bounds after Ice Cream Cake was done promotions. Plus, Joy's voice became incredibly popular in Korea. ( she's affectionately known as "the tone fairy." ) Meanwhile, Yeri was beginning to display an affinity for rapping, so she took over mostly. This allowed Joy to utilize her "Disney Princess" vibe to a fuller extent. It's great that she can still do it when she needs to.

Knowing how much you love synth I think a B Sides deep dive is a must for you. Red Velvet have a ton of 80's influenced songs packed with synth.

Yeri is the one you're sleeping on. She's known for rapping. But yes, she can do it all. She was the rookie member performing with them, until officially joining the group I think like a year after they debuted in 2014. I have to say that they've outflanked every other group on Killing Voice with the sheer number of hits they go thru in this "SINGLE" performance (how many do they cover here?). I don't think any other group has gone thru THIS MANY songs. They've really came to SLAY here. I think G-Idle upped the anti with their Killing Voice appearance. They are KILLING IT HERE!!! If you didn't LOVE them before this,.... You're a fan now,.. and that would be called a "REVELUV". And yes it's their actual vocals you hear in the TROLLS WORLD TOUR movie.

Your face during Kingdom Come, is pretty much all Reveluvs when they heard the song for the first time. Instant goosebumps when I heard it. The fact that it's a b-side, is why they are known as the Queens of B-sides. Automatic is also a b-side, and that song was what slapped me in the face, to get me to notice them. It has an MV, but unfortunately Kingdom Come doesn't, but there are a few songs on that album that do have MVs, a dance practice, and a self made video, that whole album is just RnB perfection.

Yay!! Would love for you to fully deep dive Red Velvet and cover more on your channel. They’re a very talented group! Joy is my bias personally because there’s just something special about her but you can’t go wrong with any of them (and better yet having all of them as a bias!) The crazy thing about this killing voice is it didn’t even cover all of their title tracks so there’s a lot you can check out with them! Based on your reaction, you really like their velvet side. Fun fact: Red Velvet has dual concept. Red for their bright, bold, and upbeat side and Velvet for their elegant and mature side. Sometimes they combine the concepts just like for their latest track Chill Kill and for Zimzalabim. Both of those song is a combination of their Red and Velvet side.

Moonbyul even made a guest appearance on Red Velvet's reality show, Level Up. Most noticably, Seulgi and Moonbyul are particularly close, with Seulgi featuring in Moonbyul's song (Selfish), appearing on Moonbyul's show (Moonbyul2da), and having a variety program together (Idol Drama Operation Team)

LOVE that you're into Red Velvet now. Thank you for recognizing these girls. I don't know how,. but I fell like they get overlooked WAY too much. I like how the music practically stops to listen to Wendy belt. It's like,.. oh yeah, we're stopping to hear this girls power. There is a work ethic at play here too. They've probably practiced these vocals hundreds of times. But it still sounds fresh and improv'd . That "Red Flavor" is one they dance really hard as they sing when they perform it live. And you wonder how do they dance and sing so hard both at the same time.

At the time, the top entertainment company in Korea was SM. The third generation girl group there was ‘Red Velvet’. Competitors and entertainment companies one level below were YG and JYP. YG's 3rd generation girl group was 'Blackpink', and JYP's 3rd generation girl group was 'Twice'. It goes without saying that ‘Red Velvet’ is great. Because they were top at the time. At the time, in all Korean girl groups, the prettiest and most popular member was Irene, the best vocalist was Wendy, and the best all-rounder was Seulgi. (Not based on the team, based on the entire Korean girl group)

First off,.. you SHOULDN'T pick a bias in Mamamoo. They are ALL OUTRAGEOUSLY AMAZING!! For Red Velvet,... wait until you see them in live performances. I think you will feel how much their fans love them.

(in order of age): Irene = Eldest member, Leader, Main Rapper, Lead Vocalist (and I can't remember if they said she even has a Dancer tag at all but she SHOULD, considering being able to keep up with Seulgi as well as she has proven to...). Irene also has some Acting credits. Seulgi = Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist. Closest thing to an All-Rounder the group has. She CAN rap, just does not do it often, not one of the tags by her name. She's the softy, the teddy bear of the group. Best friends with Wendy (inside and outside the group). Wendy = Main Vocalist. She can dance well enough to keep up with Seulgi and she has covered for all of the rappers when they could not be on stage. All-around powerhouse and huge positive influence. Also a troll once in a while (especially when paired with Joy...). She once sang with John Legend and that MV was HUGE ('Written In The Stars'). She's also INCREDIBLY intelligent. She did AMAZING in school in both Canada (just outside Toronto) and in the U.S. (somewhere in Minnesota, I think she said...?). While she was in High School in the U.S., she won an award for National stuff that was handed to her by President Obama himself. Joy = Lead Rapper, Lead Vocalist. Former Maknae before Yeri officially joined. Went viral for the Rainbow Dress from 'Peek-a-Boo' even though most of the members wore the same thing but, well, Joy...is a supermodel (even if it is actually Irene who is classified as 'The Visual' and face of the group). Joy also has some acting credits. Yeri = Maknae, joined months after the company says the group debuted. Irene called all the earlier stuff 'pre-debut material' and does not consider the group debuted until Yeri was old enough to join them. So 'Ice Cream Cake is seen as the debut by Irene and fans. This got the trolls to shut up and quit calling Yeri a clout-chaser and gold digger. Yeri is a wildcard and she is great all around, not given enough credit for anything. She can keep up vocally, she can rap and she can keep up with dancing. She also promotes the group better than the company does, which has been proven many times over. Yeri also has some acting credits.

I am glad you liked the part of Zimzalabim that you heard here, it definitely has it's strong points. Still my very least-favorite of RV's songs. Too repetitive in its full version, and despite Wendy's AMAZING AWESOME vocals, I still have t be 'in the mood' before I listen to that one.
