See why Albert Einstein College of Medicine researchers are studying the effects of COVID-19 on the brains of young adults who had mild or asymptomatic infection. By comparing neuroimaging, cognitive, and blood tests of these healthy participants-- before the pandemic and after infection-- the investigators will examine if SARS-CoV-2 infection induces lasting changes in the brain and affects neurocognitive function.
Researchers:
-Michael L. Lipton, M.D., Ph.D., professor of radiology and of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Einstein and medical director of MRI Services for Montefiore Health System.
-Johanna Daily, M.D., M.S., professor of medicine and of microbiology & immunology at Einstein and an infectious disease physician at Montefiore.

This might explain why the Chinese are so vigilant about stopping C19; they know this already.

Indeed it might, there were several follow up studies in China after SARS-CoV-1 in 2003. Lot of folk never fully recovered enough to rejoin the work force during the three year study. The west has rather ignored all of the past research into this coronavirus.

Chinese spread this virus on purpose in the first place and they pretty know how to cure and prevent it. High ranking officials and military staff are protected.

Thank you for these studies. I’m 27 and just went through a 2nd round of Covid. Both of the times, I’ve had bad neurocognitive symptoms. Dissociation, anxiety, depression. It’s very scary- especially when you haven’t dealt with these kind of medical issues previously.

So similar to me ! Now 23 and just had COVID for the second time a couple months ago... Worst depression and anxiety of my life. As well as disassociation and brain fog. First time round also had terrible fatigue. It took me so long to heal the first time and I'm scared that even when I heal again I will get it again and my life will keep getting interrupted by this awful illness 😓

Covid 19 is a new variant to the human race,it's also changing its self... I have watched friends change after developing Covid 19 not during the first stage but months after... Loosing their sense of smell and also their nervous system in their bodies, frustration and anger, anxieties they had never experienced before... Study shows that damage from covid 19 was through your sense of smell that connected below the back of the brain 🧠 areas. The virus has caused massive damage also from the responses to lungs and vital areas of the human body that also identify,s sense of smell. No matter what age we are this virus has affected us in many ways, since covid 19 reached the human race all over the world its has caused an out of control literally to a person,s thinking removing your sense of understanding to outrage and craziness... Repairs to your selves is the number one recovery, bringing jesus into your life 🙏not religious global belief but jesus himself, pray to him about your experience with covid 19... Our lord jesus our savior is the number one healer...I will pray for you in your recovery also... Be one with him. Saint's Stephen...

This is so timely. A friend has had it 3 times and doesn't mask. She thinks her body has beaten it, but she's experiencing repeated shingles outbreaks so her immune system is obviously taxed.

Hope the published paper is open access as I look forward to learning more about this amazing study. Just curious do you have both vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts? I guess spike is spike regardless of how it got in but I imagine with a study like this it's difficult to tease apart confounding factors. How long do you anticipate the study will take?

I told a dr. “God made me painful and stupid “ all of 2021. Who says that? I wasn’t thinking right! 18 months later I’m thinking better, but I know I’m not 100% yet. Will I EVER be? 🥲
