my brother doesn't have Endo IBS athritis or heart disease and he's 60 - lifelong omnivore, what's your point? Meat doesn't cause those things... and being vegan doesn't prevent them. vegans get IBS as well. And arthritis. And cancer. I don't have bowel cancer. I eat meat. Does that mean it's prove meat doesn't cause bowel cancer? I consume a lot of dairy, it's protective for bowel cancer. Vegans do get bowel cancer. They get lung cancer as well. And brain cancer. And skin cancer. “Cancer incidence in vegetarians: results from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC- Oxford).” Timothy J Key, Paul N Appleby, Elizabeth A Spencer, Ruth C Travis, Andrew W Roddam, and Naomi E Allen. @@PlantBasedPrimary ah so sweet! That means so much because Mike is such a superhero to me! 💚 I've been doing interviews at Vegan restaurants in route to interviews And keep stumbling on these amazing success stories. In addition to the cancer one I mentioned I also got one who reversed diabetes on the same day, and today I got one who was able to control and essentially put her MS into remission with a strategically planned vegan diet. And then this evening after interviewing another restaurant owner who's a long-time deep-rooted ethical vegan from the late '70s there was a lady outside who I interviewed who also was able to control her MS with a strategically planned vegan diet. This has been a very interesting run of interviews this go around. I think I'm about halfway through and I've been gone from home for about a week and a half. I'm pretty exhausted when the day is done and even when the morning starts. But once I get going I'm so inspired and uplifted and driven I don't know if I'm going to be able to stop! Immune systems fight against Fusobacterium: 1. Innate Immune ResponsePhagocytosis: Neutrophils, macrophages, and other phagocytic cells can engulf and destroy Fusobacterium. The release of reactive oxygen species and digestive enzymes within phagocytes helps to kill the bacteria. Complement System: Activation of the complement cascade can lead to the formation of the membrane attack complex (MAC), which can lyse Fusobacterium cells. Complement proteins also opsonize bacteria, enhancing their phagocytosis.Antimicrobial Peptides: The body produces various antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) such as defensins and cathelicidins that can disrupt bacterial cell membranes and kill Fusobacterium. 2. Adaptive Immune Response Antibody Production: B cells produce antibodies that can specifically bind to Fusobacterium antigens, neutralizing the bacteria and marking them for destruction by other immune cells. Cell-Mediated Immunity: T cells, particularly cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), can recognize and destroy infected cells presenting Fusobacterium antigens, helping to control and eliminate the infection.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Mic! I've been researching all morning to find ways of reducing this bacteria and have found some interesting results. It turns out that a diet high in dairy can reduce the amount in the intestines, which sucks for us, but then I wanted to find out the possible mechanisms involved and if there's something in plants that can have the same effect. It turns out that Spermadine is able to weaken the bacteria and make it more vulnerable to the effects of dietary tannins which are able to suppress its ability to create cancer, and Spermadine is found in cheese, so maybe there's the connection. Of course, there's far more Spermadine found in soy... So eating plenty of soy and drinking tea could be just as beneficial or even more than consuming dairy (for prevention of CRC). The most exciting thing I found was just how beneficial Berberine is, not only is it able to prevent and reverse CRC caused by Fusobacterium nucleatum, it's also been found to be beneficial at reducing Endometriosis... possibly through the same mechanism. I also know someone who suffered from IBS for decades before he started taking Berberine (but not for IBS) and it had an incredibly positive effect on him! Very interesting compound, of course found in Barberries.

Very fascinating topic indeed. Only remark, as someone diagnosed with Endometriosis myself, please note the correct definition of the disease: ""Endometriosis is a disease in which cells like those in the endometrium, the layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus, grow outside the uterus" (from Wikipedia). I want to emphasis the part that says "cells LIKE those in the endometrium" because they are NOT the endometrium itself that grows in other places, but a SIMILAR one that behaves like it, with bleedings etc. This is still something very ignored in the medical community so it is important to use the correct definition. For the rest, great video!

It is true that meat is hard to digest and feeds bacteria that produce harsh toxins, causing inflammation in the gut. Chronic inflammation is the cause of most if not all cancers. Bacteria and viruses can cause inflammation, and a weak immune system can not fight off these agents effectively. A healthy, predominantly whole plant food diet is key.

Dental Hygienist here (6 years), recently made the switch to a vegetarian diet- hoping to be eventually fully vegan at some point! Love your videos. Happy that you covered a video like this. The oral-systemic link is a huge focus in medicine/dentistry now. Nutrition was a huge part of our program; it's almost impossible to be fully healthy without proper oral health. Pathogenic oral bacteria have also been linked with Alzheimers; oral disease increases severity of chronic conditions ie diabetes, heart disease, etc. When I notice in patients an excessive amount of tarter/calculus build up (much more than you would typically see between 3-6 months visits) I usually follow up to ask about their diet- (do you eat a lot of protein/meat?) the answer is usually yes! Saliva components play a role; however people who eat more vegetables (especially raw) have a protective effect to oral disease as well- helps to "work-out" the surrounding periodontal ligaments of the teeth (fibrous and crunchy) while also acting like a "natural toothbrush"- (however this does not replace brushing or flossing!!!). More fibrous foods also help to "starve" out certain pathogenic bacteria whereas less fibrous foods tend to "fuel" them as well as an acidic environment. :) This was something we studied quite a bit. Anyways- great content!

Which I doubt looking at the studies. It only doesn't fuel any cavity bacteria as much as direct sugar, but that doesn't kill it. It'd be like claiming water kills those, when it just doesn't feed them. Alcohol and antibiotics kill bacteria but we all know it's not a good idea to consume these daily or at all. Xylitol is a synthetically produced sugar alcohol that has way less carbs like glucose, but it actually still has carbs. Thus xylitol does still fuel ie. cavities more than water but way less than glucose.

Would you consider doing a video on IBS, specifically? I’ve heard that people with IBS are sensitive to many plant based foods (gluten/wheat, cruciferous veg, onions, garlic, legumes, many fruits, tomatoes, etc.) and dairy, forcing them to resort to a diet heavy in meat and eggs. Is this the only option for those with IBS? Are the only choices between an unhealthy diet (with lots of meat and eggs) and a healthy diet with regular pain? If one with IBS wanted to transition from a meat and egg heavy diet to a plant based diet, would it require a slow transition? Would the pain go away over time? Would love to hear your research findings.

Quite interesting up to where your bias cuts in. Now let’s look at the supposed meat eaters? Very likely they are on the SAD diet so eat vegetables, grains and probably plenty of other rubbish. As this bacteria isn’t causal just present just like candida tends to be in tumours too there is no real evidence against meat. You might find it interesting that anecdotally the carnivore diet cures gum disease and dental issues, it’s well known that sugar and carbs are problematic to oral health. It also clears up IBS and heals the gut barrier all things supposedly linked to this bacteria’s spread. It has been shown that people on a carnivore diet have the same diversity of bacteria as anyone else just without the wind and fermentation that occurs with plant matter/ carbs. As these studies mick loves so much are always with patients on a mixed diet because that’s the norm makes them completely useless to ascertain what causes what. It won’t stop him though as he’s an ideolog. There are several doctors and places like paleomedcina in Hungary that use carnivore/ keto diets to cure all sorts of diseases and cancers. Proof is in the pudding as they say. Butyrate is found in meats and butter, the amount made in the gut from fibre is very small. Fibre also a major cause of gut issues for many. And stomach acid if you eat a mixed diet and very likely lots of fibre would lower its ability to do its job and many people’s indigestion is from low stomach acid not to much. So ruining your ability to digest food properly allows bacteria to survive. People who have a colostomy bag and eat meat on its own will tell you all that comes out is liquid. If you eat fibre that come through the stomach and small intestines intact.

I have a suspicion that mixing veg and meat in single meals may be causing as these foods are digested in different parts of the body - it may be the case that your body doesn't want veg in the small intestine and in trying to get it put quickly is dragging a load of undigested meat into the large intestines with it, and it may be this that is causing correlations with some of these issues and meat consumption. I also thought it a but funny that he's trying to claim that red meat is causal to arthritis when arthritic symptoms are one of the first things carnivores report healing.

Funny, my RA was at its worst when I ate meat and went into remission (and has stayed in remission for the last 8 years) since I went vegan. My acne also went away, my stomach issues went away, and my gallbladder attacks also ended-haven’t had one since I went vegan 8 years ago. All those symptoms were at their absolute peak when I ate meat.

@@Meathead-10810 and yet red meat is a common IBS trigger, and studies have found IBS sufferers tend to have higher intakes of beef and processed meats. Hmmm. Interesting too how my own IBS-like symptoms poofed shortly after going vegan. No more cramping and bloating! RA in remission. Acne cleared up. No thanks, I’ll stick to the diet that is ethical and more healthy, too! :D

@@wolfwonderess Statistically the standard omnivore diet is plant based and many of those people get IBS too. I actually think it's gojji man that advertises the stool sample analysis for his audience but it's also a vegan audience so still applies that his audience needs his services the most :) All questionnaire studies are only meant for scientists and we should not be even considering them as and kind of evidence.

AI Summary: In this video, Mike discusses Fusobacterium, a genus of bacteria that is not widely known but is implicated in several diseases, particularly cancers like colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, endometriosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. He focuses on Fusobacterium nucleatum, an oral bacterium that can travel to other parts of the body, contributing to various infections and diseases. Key points include: * Fusobacterium nucleatum is an opportunistic pathogen associated with dental plaque and periodontal disease. * This bacterium has been found in various cancers, suggesting it can travel from the mouth to other parts of the body. * Studies show Fusobacterium nucleatum may accelerate tumor growth and induce resistance to chemotherapy. * Diet, particularly the consumption of red meat, can increase the presence of Fusobacterium nucleatum in the gut, potentially fueling cancer development. * Conversely, dietary fiber may help inhibit cancer cell growth by promoting the production of beneficial short-chain fatty acids like butyrate. * Fusobacterium nucleatum may also play a role in endometriosis and rheumatoid arthritis. * The video's message underscores the importance of diet in managing the risks associated with Fusobacterium nucleatum.

Love this argument. Meanwhile animals are fed the most pesticide laden plants which bioaccumulate in them so you get even more than eating the plants. Oh but I’m sure you only eat grass fed free range animals 🤣

No carbs no seed oils no sugar no processed foods. Please show me these studies. Wonder why none of these studies exist. Might show something they don't want people to find out
