Just got mine last weekend. It casts wonderfully! Only complaint is it's hard to see when swinging in certain light conditions. Not a real big deal though.

Hi guys, nice head, just a Q: Can Scandi launch be used in P&T lakes for trout and salmon? thanks

Hello, I cannot find any information about correlation between ERN (effective rod number measured with common cents method) and some DH lines (Skagit, Scandi, Spey). Have you any knowledge about it? I need to measure the rod and then buy a perfect line. By the way, Rio Single Handed Spey is my favorite line for SH spey style. Thanks Rio 🎉

We generally stick to AFFTA standards measured through grain weight and matched to your rod. You can find all of our weights listed on each line's page. Apologies, we do not use ERN.

I have a switch G loomis 11 ft 8wt what would be a good grain to fit mine? Maybe tips as well, help!!!

A 470gr or 500gr with 10ft Replacement Tip might be a good place to start. Every rod is a little bit different but that would be the grain window to dial-in on.

@@RIOPRODUCTS 10 ft replacement tip??
@RIOPRODUCTS6 ай бұрын
@@mt.hoodangler Depends on our setup and what you like but for Scandi you can run "Replacement Tips" or "VersiLeaders" if your looking to switch up sink rates or you can run leaders clean off the end. Heaviest to lightest setups in that order. For a good middle ground, we suggest starting with VesiLeaders on dedicated Scandi casting.

Hi there recently bought a 14ft rod it say on the rod 580 grains would i get the 550 grains then the rio heavy versileader that will bring it to about 590 will this match the rod i am new to spey /scandi casting
@RIOPRODUCTS6 ай бұрын
Really nuanced but technically to dial in on the heavy versileader, you are correct. The rod will make a general recommendation relative to head only, which in most instances covers any tip in addition. But when going to heaviest tips, that 550 plus the heavy tip may be the more dialed play to cover the "580 range". But in general, you map what is listed on the rod to head only, as it's really just the extreme ends on the tips that you may dial back on the head to accommodate.

Would the 500gr turn over poly leaders weighing 50gr?
@RIOPRODUCTS7 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely. Typically speaking you could max out at 100gr and still have it turnover but anything over that would start to get difficult.

@@RIOPRODUCTS okay cool! Ordered up a 500gr for my 7/8 look forward to having a cast!
