My father owns his own carpet business for 45 years. Always rinse your carpets with vinegar water. You can add some drops of essential oils like orange oil or lemon oil to the water as well... But definitely vinegar to the water. If you have towels or washcloths also they get mildewy then wash them in the washing machine with just vinegar no detergent takes out the smell perfectly

I’m praying for both of you. I pray that you feel the comfort and peace that can only come from Jesus surrounding you. I ask Father that you dial his pain down and that he has a quick healing. I pray that they are surrounded by supportive people that will encourage them daily and teach them how to live with this new challenge so it will glorify you Father. 1 forth 10:13 promises us that You only give us what we can handle and that You will always show us a way out. I pray that they cling to Your promises and praise you through this because they will both come out more refined from it. In Jesus name I ask this, amen.

It has a bottom pad that velcros to a thinner rug that can be removed and popped in the washer. It's amazingly stain resistant and bounces back from a lot of abuse. Like my incontinent senior dog who has had many bladder and bowel accidents on it. The rug still looks (and smells!) new.

As someone who's had tiny dogs. Their bladders aren't big. I set an alarm every hour and mad the dog sit at the door and gave treats before they went out. Gradually the I increased the time. They eventually got trained if they needed to go potty they would sit by the door. Hope that helps. Also taking them outside before we left places and immediately right when we got back helped with nervous bladders and the excitement from returning home.

Use white vinegar & hot water. Then make sure you get all the water out of the rug. Lay the rug out on something outside in the sun & make sure it's dried well. You can also use the lemon flavor pine sol on your in between shampooings. It helps a lot. Good luck. Just make sure you completely dry your rug & the smell will not be there. Vinegar will take away any mildew odor.

Three great TIPS! 1. When you clean your rugs, hang them over a line or somewhere out side to dry completely! Letting them sit on floor,the moisture from your rug will then transfer to your floor underneath the rug. Also, if you have corners on the rugs that won’t lay down , put three or so ice cubes on that corner and no more corners up! Oh, when trying on shoes also, always try them on for the right foot! It’s bigger than their left foot! That’s goes for anyone’s feet, right is bigger!
@collettephillips95736 күн бұрын
Hey, Marina! 😊 57 year old mom of 3 adult children, over here! To get rid of that gym sock, soured smell, use pine-sol ORIGINAL when you clean your area rugs. It HAS TO BE the BROWN, ORIGINAL Pine~Sol brand, though. Add it to the water solution when you clean your rugs. Also works on anything else that you need to get that smell out of in your laundry! Works like a charm. I swear by it! 🙂

Use vinegar! It gets out mold/mildew smell. I add it to my load of towels (mostly during humid months) to eliminate musty mildew smell. Use a 2 parts white vinegar with 1 part water in your carpet cleaner. If it’s really bad, you might have to do it twice and possibly flip the carpet to do the back….. also, I probably would put towels or a thicker blanket underneath the rug when you clean it because I’m not sure if it will do damage to the finish on your floor as vinegar is acidic. If you can , I would drape the cleaned carpet over something to allow airflow while drying. *** the vinegar smell will disappear as it dries. Hope you are able to save your rug!

Vinegar -100% to rinse, then outside to dry out. It works on laundry (including boy football practice in August/doesn't bring your practice gear home for the month smells). Just the white cooking/easter egg type vinegar, nothing fancy or expensive. You can try diluting it in water, but if it smells like I think it does, just use it full strength. The easter egg smell will disappear as soon as it dries lol

Okay...my experience with rugs is a mixed bag before I do the following: I take my rug out once or twice a year...power wash it, rinse( also splash regular apple cider vinegar all over...then begin the process of letting it dry. Outside. I use my husband's saw horses to put it on and leave outside for the sun to do its thing...sometimes up to 2 days. Then I flip it over for the sun to do the back. Being outside and the sun and apple cider vinegar is my go to. White vinegar may be too harsh for the fibers in the rug. Try the apple cider vinegar...it will take out the smell and soap residue.

I always hang my rugs to dry on a railing outside . The carpet cleaner does not suck all the moisture up and water gets left on the bottom layer and can mold ( I'm guessing that might be part of the smell) Since there is no air circulation the moisture is just trapped in the bottom layer. If you can't hang it, flip it so both sides dry completely. Hope this helps . Also if you have any old school car washes around you could try taking the old rug to one and scrub it down there on both sides with those long scrub brooms and hang it to dry . It might be a little work but if you really want to save it, it might be worth it for you. A couple bucks and a little time. Good luck.

White vinegar is what you use for smells, but honestly once a rug mildews, it’s trash. I have dogs too and when I had carpet, I used white vinegar or a product called Odoban is with my carpet shampoo. The vinegar would inhibit mold too, but go over the carpet until you see no water coming up. Love me some Ross. I would rather have cheap rugs that I don’t have to cry about when they get ruined. Thanks for the video. Always enjoy them so much!

Vinegar!! It smells but it also gets any smells out. For my carpets, with 5 dogs also, I put baking soda then vinegar over it, let sit 15 mins to 20, then I got the stick carpet scrubber that you put a can of resolve in or a hand scrubber to really scrub that stuff in, then rinse

Russian tea cakes. A shortbread cookie rolled in powder sugar. I add chopped pecans to mine. I've also colored coconut red and green( in seperate bowls) rolled the cookies in a thin glaze then rolled them in the coconut, very christmasy.
