NEW RULES IN FRANCE !! selling cattle gets more complicated !

In today's episode of farming life at la forge, we are moving cattle getting ready for our annual herd test. There is a new disease in france which means new rules and regulations for selling cattle for us. Dad walks us through the different bunches of cows calves and bulls in the shed.

Great to have you back filming on the farm. I know that is selfish, but you catch the farm in its working state, mum and dad doing their daily, weekly chores. Here in England in our region we TB test every 6 months - the whole herd ! Plus we are testing for BVD and Johnes too. It all means I’m having to build a new handling area at the far end of the farm. Our test in at the end of March, so getting into the worrying time here. Thanks for another great video and so soon after getting back. Take care all of you and be happy.

Where do you think that new virus has come from, sounds bad enough, I would not be surprised to find it is man made to give farmers another thing to try and finish us, cattle look great and the calfs are in fine form, good luck to you and the family

Apparently it's not new there's different types of it, there's just no vaccine for this type that hit France. Not sure where it started but seems to have come up from the south

Here in New Zealand on beef farms we only have to test the cow's and the breading bull's. The cattle that are going to the meat work's don't have to be done and the calves aren't done either And it's free doesn't cost the farmer anything Keep up the good work 👍

Dad prefers the limousins, easier calving. The limXcharolais are good but the buyers don't like the crosses

We prefer the limousins, easier calving. We like the cross but the buyers over here don't like cross bred cattle
