Thanks James, super helpful buddy! Considering getting some of the new yellow, but still have half a bottle of "old yellow". For a weekender, wondering if I'd really notice the difference.

James, just to if your going to do a video on the new pads, currently I’ve bought into the scholl concepts system. Thinking of adding these new pads to try out with.

Where do you offer courses? Would love to do one of your courses about polishing. Seems as you use the rupes products that’s what time looking for. Can’t seem to find it online about any courses you run. Great content learned a lot from you already. Have bought the new mk3 rupes 15 and getting on with it.

Hi again James. Thank you for your video. I have seen these products but have not yet purchased them as I still have a couple of bottles each of the white/yellow/green and blue. So let me see if I've got this right - white pad with UNO pure for jewelling / yellow with DA yellow or UNO Pure for polishing / Blue with DA Coarse or UNO(perhaps). Now I saw in the comments that green will be discontinued but can use blue with a technique change: And that is? DA blue with green pad? Thank you again for your guidance. regards Paul
@detailingyoda16524 жыл бұрын
Glad this one got you thinking! Yes, you've pretty much got it. The technique change is not easy to explain here. When we're talking about varying technique I mean varying one or more of the 5 key variables when we're polishing.. arm speed, machine speed, pressure, pad angle and working area. These can be manipulated so that we get more or less cut for a given pad/ polish. Therefore with the new coarse, if you manipulate the variables for reduced cut youre able to make it perform like the green would have.

@@detailingyoda1652 Got it thanks. However I just feel slightly disappointed with Rupes. Reason being is that we all get accustomed to their near perfect system and now it will become a trial and error like any other generic polish and pad combination. In my humble opinion I think that they might lose some custom as admittedly there are pads and polishes from different companies that give the same result with the same trial and error basis. So in my case I would probably stick to DA blue/blue - DA yellow/ blue --yellow -white.. UNO Pure with yellow - white. Thank you for your info and patience.

I'm going to try the new yellow with the new blue foam to take the place of green. The yellow wool / new yellow polish should get you a good medium cut too.
@jtm19794 жыл бұрын
I allready have the new coarse and fine compound, cant wait to test them. One thing i hope is that Rupes would update their microfiber pad with foam backing like the blue wool pad.
@Mark-cw3io4 жыл бұрын
Try them yet?

@@Mark-cw3io Not much yet. Seems like the new compound cuts quite good, more than Koch Chemie H9 and Meguiars M110, but didint finish as well.
@Mark-cw3io4 жыл бұрын
jtm1979 I’ve tried all three. Used the coarse and fine on a few cars. Coarse dusted a lot, but cut well. Finish wasn’t great. Fine cut and finished great for a polish. Pure, I only tried it on a soft black test hood I have and it did not like Pure.
@jtm19794 жыл бұрын
@@Mark-cw3io why didnt you like uno pure? Yellow fine was a bit hard to wipe off.
@Mark-cw3io4 жыл бұрын
jtm1979 none of the 3 wiped off easy. They didn’t stick to the paint, just took some elbow grease. Pure with the new Rupes white pad left noticeable micro marring on my test hood. Koch Chemie M3 did not on the same hood. It’s only one paint system I’ve tried with Pure.

I'd like to ask if the new blue is more predictable; or in other words easier to control how much it cuts? How do you perceive the lack of the green one in their new system? Kind rgeards.
@detailingyoda16523 жыл бұрын
Yes the blue is more controllable. No need for green in my opinion. You can get blue to do what green does with changes in speed and pressure.

@@detailingyoda1652 Thanks for the repoly. Being a beginner, may I ask what speed and pressure to make the blue cutting paste work like the previous green? Kind regards.

I disagree with the Mille. I owned one and own all the other Rupes polisher including rotary and nano. 15-21 does cut a lot faster than mille. Sure its easier fo beginner to use mille.
@Mark-cw3io4 жыл бұрын
jtm1979 15/21 do cut faster on a flat pane, but how much of a car is flat, generally speaking? At the end of the day, gear driven saves time by not constantly having to switch tools.

@@jtm1979 - I had the same feeling about the Flex 3401. Every time I would try it, I was disappointed with how slow it cut. My old Porter Cable 7424 would cut faster. I buffed a few dozen cars with it too. I just never got the hang of it I guess.

@@danlc95 as a weekend hobbiest here and there still have my PC7424 which is in great working shape. Just purchased Uno and was wondering which pads work best on soft paint if you have experience with the PC?
@danlc953 жыл бұрын
@@omarpatino5936 - on soft paint, I found it was more about the type of polish. Polishes like Menzerna 2500 if I wanted cut with finish, or Menzerna 3500 if I just needed extreme finishing. Jescar Medium and Micro, Koch Chemie fine and micro are also similar. 3D AAT502 would also work in thay situation, if you wanted a non diminishing polish. The pads I'd use with them were the blue Buff and Shine polishing pad, or Lake Country Tangerine Hydrotech pads. The Hydrotech was just better all around with cut to finish ratio. With the Rupes systems, I never had finishing issues with Keramim/Yellow foam. I'm still testing the new polishes, but on the old foams. So far so good, but I have yet to try them on the really soft paints.
