The Volume 9 opening is so different in tone because the season itself is, as well. It's got some good action, yes, but it mainly focuses more on character development after some serious shit went down. Also, the theme of the volume pays homage to Alice in Wonderland. If you watch it again with that in mind, you can see the connections.

Season 9 was the worst and the music sounds diff bc casey took over the music and she is into progressive rock while herd dad kept it more punk also can we pls stop lying to ourselves all fights scene went downhill after montys passing i loved the fast pace combos he did...its all slow hits with people being taken down in 3 hits like they care more about how inclusive they are with their writers vs getting good writers to make it a good show new season was a little to wacky and childish and trust the show already had childish points but not like this it went from family friendly to childish

All of the intros are sung by Casey Lee Williams. She's the vocalist for most of the songs and she took over as the head of music for the show for Volume 9 after her father Jeff Williams retired

Vol 9 OP probably would appear mid without the context… but when you have the context it might very well be the best OP out of all of them. Vol 9 was just so completely different from the other volumes simply because of stuff going down in the story. Had nothing to do with Crunchyroll “taking over” or anything like that (Rooster Teeth still developed Vol 9, it’s just for this volume and probably going forward Crunchyroll aired it on release instead of having to wait the week delay after it debuted on Rooster Teeth’s paid tier). Volume 9 was pretty much an acid trip (as most things based on Alice in Wonderland tend to be) - but it was much needed for much needed character development for some of the characters.

Well, having Volume 1 context means you'll catch a lot more spoilers than if you were blind, but you do you, so as long as you're having fun it's all good. About Volume 9, I'll just say it's very different for a good reason, and having context changes how you feel about it a lot.

Always good to see a new reactor xD v9's OP fits given the context of v9 and is easily my fav, in part because of it being Casey (the singer for all of the OP's and most if not all the songs in the show)'s debut heading the music after her dad Jeff retired. v2 is a solid one, though really all of them are solid.

Definitely check out the trailers, they have pertinent story points that set up parts of the show; also the volume always shows the new opening at the end of the first episode just fyi There's also shorts that should be watched before volume 4, and same for 5, as well as some shorts called World of Remnant that flesh out the world lore that should be watched between vol 1-2-3, also also, don't worry about censoring or cutting things, rooster teeth and crwby encourage full uncut reactions, and are very responsive about helping with strikes

@@GHOULSZNSusually it’s not the company but yt own automated bot system. If you appeal they should fix it. I have seen a few copyright issues (especially v5 for some reason) but Rooster Teeth are usually pretty chill with reactors it’s the yt system that isn’t chill.

I can tell you aren't really into prog music lol, the time signatures in the volume 8 op are pretty different if you don't listen to prog that much lol. Can sound off to people who aren't used to it, unless you do and it just isn't something you're into in which case fair enough, preference and whatnot lol. But I am assuming that's what you meant by that section of the vol 8 opening being dodgy?

The last opening being kinda mid is because RWBY is not in the best spot financially rn, if I'm not mistaken volume 10 hasn't even got greenlit yet which is super worrisome for the future of rwby... But I hope you still enjoy the show though, and if possible could you also react to the RWBY Ice Queendom opening? it's an anime spin off of RWBY that's a retelling of the first volume. The opening has 2 versions, the tv one and the blue ray with updated visuals

v9's OP actually makes sense if you're aware of the context of that volume and has nothing to do with budget. Also something to keep in mind in regards to "volume 10 hasn't been greenlit" is that RT is working on a final season for their other show RvB and new episodes for another animated series Camp Camp. It also really just means waiting for when it eventually is, as greenlighting just means the funds needed to budget it are in place. The only thing that shuts it down is "cancel" not "not greenlit yet" and the crew hasn't been carrying a depressed tone either.
