The bass boost is too bloated for me. Everything else is very dulled, in order to enhance the bass. I've been trying to get used to the Buds+ for several days, and I just can't cope with how bad they sound to me. The mids are so strong, and sound stage so narrow, that it feels like they're being forced into my ear. The mids are just physically painful to hear. The bass is present, but has the impact of a wet noodle being dragged behind the mids. I won't be able to return them for a few more days, so will give them a few more tries.

Should I go for the Galaxy Buds+ or Jabra Elite Active 75t?? as I'm looking for an earbuds mailnly for my workout & running sessions
@MikeOBrienMedia4 жыл бұрын
It depends on what type of music you like. The Jabras have some quirks (e.g.mono mode one works with the right bud) but they have much more prominent bass. If you listen to rap, rock, or EDM, go with the Jabras. Otherwise, I recommend the Galaxy buds plus!

Do they also work with youtube music or other music platforms the same way as with Spotify
@MikeOBrienMedia4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the long press function only works with Spotify right now but I imagine they may release an update to allow users to open the app of their choice someday

What do the buttons in the case do?
@MikeOBrienMedia4 жыл бұрын
As far as I can tell, they are not buttons. I think they are just indicators for left/right. I assume they made them a rubber insert so they could use a 64 cavity or 128 cavity mold for all of the cases, regardless of the language (I am not fully educated on the subject, but I assume cases in china have the chinese symbol for right/left?). This is all just my speculation. If anyone has any further insight, please reply :)

@@MikeOBrienMedia they look like buttons so much! Really crazy, the originals definitely don't have it and i can tell which is which just fine

I did upgrade from Gear Icon X 2018. I'm really impressed. Well done. If I have to criticize, I wish the bass a bit punchier . 👍👏

Yeah, I see where you are coming from. The bass is improved from the previous gen in my opinion, but it is still not as prominent as the Jabra 75t earbuds

Mike have tried these in windy conditions and with passthrough set to medium or higher, I didn’t try low, wind speed over 20 mph renders passthrough almost unusable, they need to sort this. So battery in real life is about 40 mins longer than the Jabra 75t’s in real life
@MikeOBrienMedia4 жыл бұрын
Passthrough will do that with any earbuds from what I've seen. It's just the nature of the wind blowing over a microphone. I leave my passthrough off on windy days

I upgraded to the Galaxy S20+ here in the UK and as part of the promotion currently running until tomorrow, I will be getting a pair of the Galaxy Buds+ for free alongside my phone. I currently have a Samsung phone but I've been using the 1st gen Apple AirPods that I've had since they came out alongside it. I've always preferred Apple earphones because those rubber tips on other earphones, never stay in my ears regardless of the brand or tip size! My AirPods have seen better days however so if these Galaxy Buds+ don't fit my ears properly and constantly fall out, I'll be getting myself some Huawei Freebuds 3 as they are similar to the design of the AirPods and have seen some great reviews on them.

I'm planning to get them, but the one thing I don't like is how glossy the Plus are. The original Buds look way better in my opinion.
