You really should have used the plates and concrete etc. you got at the start for automating some stuff instead of throwing it all on an upgrade that you didn't even have enough to get, just place the smelters on the ground, then some constructors and containers, build a couple more biomass burners, then the miner mk1, connect everything. Build foundations later, once you already have some production going.

God this new starting zone is amazing. Space for ages to build. Pure Caterium, Coal nodes very close by, Sulfur only 1click out. Its like heaven.

Personally I found the buff to bio based power to be quite good. You can automate the production line super easy with a merger to combine wood biomass and leaf biomass to make the solid fuel. A mk2 belt brings the system to 100% efficiency. More than enough to get you to coal with little biomass farming.

Z, the Foundation plate 1x8m was already available in Update 2, so it's not new. Also the Medicinal Inhaler was available in Update 2, but you needed to unlock Tier 7 or something.

The 1m concrete foundations was actually released shortly after Trains. Not sure if the ability to build multiple MAMs or if only being able to use one at a time is a (possible) bug.

I don't think it's a bug. Being able to build multiple MAMs across the world means you don't need to return to your hub just to start researching something.

The solid biofuel stuff, from what you were saying, in terms of the biomass into biofuel. you said 12 seconds for the ingredients and it's 15 seconds for the solid biofuel. that is 25% more. 1/4 of 12 is 3, 12+3=15, so 25% or 1/4 more than the ingredients. not awful. that is based on your words though, Z, i don't play this game.

If you hold left ctrl while building on the ground, it will snap to the centerline of existing buildings. Really helps for lining splitters and mergers without foundations.

Z just remember 200 solid biomass is like 2 stacks of biomass inn volume so the biomass burner runs 2x longer per stack of fuel

1x8 foundations are not exactly new they were added in update 2 technically you can craft from your inventory since you can build a craft bench anywhere just drop one down craft what you need and dissemble it as long as you have the very basics you don't need to run around

Automate your Biomass production. Then you all you need to do is drop your leaves and wood in the respective bin and the system with turn it into solid biofuel. It's definitely worth it. At least until you get Coal plants going.

If you head a bit south of where you’re at, there’s a nice spot with 2 pure iron, 2 pure copper, 2 pure limestone and 3 Normal coal nodes within pretty close proximity to each other.
