I am one of the idiots that actually soldered the pipe together for my cooler/trap. Thanks for this video, you have a really nice setup!

I have a Saylor Beall model 9000 on a 200 gallon tank . It is in excellent condition and I bought it for $1,299 at an auction. What a nice piece of equipment ! Best deal ever .

That's a nice setup you got there Tim. I was able to salvage an old 80 gal Ingersoll rand from my old job but it runs on 3 phase power so i'll have to come up with system to run it on single phase using capacitors.
@timsworkshop853 жыл бұрын
As long as the tank on that Ingersoll is solid that's a good score.
@MannyFontes19683 жыл бұрын
@@timsworkshop85 Yes it was because they wanted to put it in the scrap dumpster. Yeah, I was always the only one that would drain it every couple of days to keep water from building up in the tank.

I have a salorbeall compressor that I used for over 50 years, 6 and 7 days a week in a tire shop It still works like new I had to replace the motor 10 years ago I rate them number one.

What model compressor was that ? I love the model 9000 . It’s slow turning and produces a lot of air .

VFDs work too. I use them on my lathe and milling machine.

Nice compressor, What did you pay? I have an American made Quincy QT-54 that is working well. It runs quiet and pumps out plenty of air. I was in the middle of a project when my old compressor bit the dust and needed a compressor quick. So I went with the Quincy since I could buy one locally. I do like the aftercooler on the SB. I am going to make one for my Quincy. I did put a magnetic motor starter on mine as well. I did a CNC milling machine conversion that uses some air. I am going to do a CNC lathe conversion next and some day I and going to make a plasma CNC.

This particular compressor was running just under $5,000.00 in May of 2022 for the performance package that is shown in this video from compressor world but I haven't looked at how much they are only 6 months later so they may be even more now.
@treborterb2 жыл бұрын
So I just looked on the Compressor World website and it went up another $500.00 in the last 6 months...it's %5,500.00 now with free delivery...

I live in a rural area and have a 140 foot gravel driveway and had the lift gate service and they told me that they could only deliver it on the road because their liftgate service uses a regular pallet jack which will obviously not work on gravel...so keep in mind that the delivery company has to be able to get into a driveway with a potentially large truck...in my case a semi-truck. Try getting a 700# plus compressor down a 140 ft gravel driveway...wish someone would have explained the actual delivery process before hand.

How do you get this model with the full package? It won't let me add anything but the different volts and the switch?
@r.guardia91072 жыл бұрын
Great video, shop and compressor. How did you get the compressor onto the rolling base? I would like to buy one, but not sure how to move it around once delivered by the lift gate
@timsworkshop852 жыл бұрын
I removed the gauge/switch on the top of the tank. Then I put a piece of square tubing underneath the motor/compressor mounting plate. Then, with my 2 ton HF shop crane and a strap, I attached to the square tubing and lifted it up. Hope this helps.

what are the black flex lines from the tank to the airlines and air lines to regulator and where do you get them?
@timsworkshop852 жыл бұрын
The black hose is 1/2 inch air hose, you should be able to get anywhere they sell air hose.

The continuous run feature is only available on the 15hp to 30hp models and not the 5 hp model that you have here.
@spreaddeezhazelnutz751110 ай бұрын
Wrong. It comes standard on 15HP and up models. However, it's available as an option for lower HP models for over $500.

If you think it is all made in USA, you would be very surprised to find out most of the subcomponents are not. You can count on the tank drain timer, components in the magnetic switch, pressure switch, OP relief valve, and most likely the motor also made in China or Vietnam. If you want a true 100% USA made compressor, your best bet is to buy a 20 years old US made industrial compressor. For what it's worth, air compressor is not precision machine like your Hyundai. It is more crude than a Harley Davidson.
@Alabamaweldinginspector2 жыл бұрын
Baldor motors are made in the United States . That’s why they are a quality motor and not a China piece of crap .
@Alabamaweldinginspector2 жыл бұрын
Where are you from V son , China too !
@Comm0ut Жыл бұрын
HDs are simple, not crude, I'm a multibrand mechanic and owner of many decades and those words mean different things. Sanborn used to make durable compressor pumps (the key part of the system) but sold out to Coleman in 1994. The little stuff isn't a deal breaker. Those wanting pure all-American can buy the compressor pump from Saylor-Beall and self-install which of course isn't difficult. My used SBs will shortly share a custom skid.
@justinpalmer919610 ай бұрын
Mine has an American made baldor moter. American made Saylor beall pump. American made Eaton mag switch and and American made hubbell pressure switch. American made Manchester tank and even the tank bushings are USA. I would agree on the Chinese tank drain
@stephaneaudette66652 жыл бұрын
Verry nice machine but don't freak with made in usa. You tell it 500 times and there is a lot of stuff are made in other contry and are better.... 🙄🙄 But with a nice compressor like that, it it nice to put a Asco red hat water drain.
