Just out of curiosity, have you considered getting Andrea tested for ADHD? I wouldn’t usually bring it up to a parent, but with Jonathan having it & the behaviours you describe from Andrea I couldn’t help but mention it. An early diagnosis can lead to early help which may be super helpful for him (and you) x

Do the bigger kids still read for enjoyment? I know Emilia and Edie used to love story time. Sadly tv and electronics take over and they lose that great joy and skill of spinning stories as well with illustrations etc. Maybe make them a summer reading list and ask what people like to read at their ages for suggestions and have some turn off screens and read for the whole family. It will help their attention span also.

Hi Anna, I started watching you when you had Amelia. Somehow lost your subscription and found it again recently. I have almost 4yr old who doesn't nap. I always wonder why bedtime stories are often with some horrific thing like a hook arm or wooden leg. I mean I’m all supportive of disabled folks but why are pirates always missing limbs and why do kids need to learn about scary things at bedtime? It’s just kinda funny like let’s introduce something scary a la Grimms Fairy Tales and then shut off the light and leave a kid to their story and imagination. I remember some stories being very impactful as a kid and giving me nightmares. Not to say this one would but I mean they really need the interesting but not horrific bedtime story collection. I learned about the three blind mice and had nightmares about something getting hacked off with a knife at prob age 4 or 5. My mom found some less scary stories than nursery rhymes after that. lol we used to read one boy Richard Scary books and he loved them. Another fave was Dr Seuss sorry about the kid who gets a goldfish and feeds him too much and he grows ai big he’s taking over the house slowly from sink to tub to backyard pool or something like that. Impressive but not scary. Lol also Clifford the big red dog books were fun. No shade to Anna and the books they have. I know pirates and swashbuckling is part of boyhood. Soon Dre will be all about butts and farts. Get ready Anna. There are some books about such joyous events like farting animals and captain underpants books.
