Hej, your Tol. scandens is HUGE. The ones I bought last year were tiny little fans. As I've told you already scandens dont make bushes they grow upwards (you have my pics). My first tolumnias are blooming. Mocha dot, also from Schwerter, has already opened and Jairak firm Super Brown, from OG, is 'in production'. Have a great weekend!

WOW that´s great news! My mocha dot was really nice until just recently... but well if scale comes along its really difficult. My scandens must have been lying somewhere in a dark corner at the nursery just found ;-) Its blooms are quite nondescript but the shape of the fan I do LOVE! Happy week talk to you soon :-)

Hi there! I couldn´t believe my eyes when I saw the price on it. 1 euro is a giveaway. I expected a tiny scared little fan with slooping leaves... and along came this splendid orchid! So greatful for it! :-) Have an adorable week :-)

Oh I see you got a Tolumnia scandens! I was able to visit their nursery once and got a little bit carried away when seeing the 1€ price tag. End of the story: I now call six of those my own😅. They will ramble and so far, they have proven difficult to flower. The secret seems to be a cool, dryish winter abrubtly followed by a warm spring with an increase in watering (this is when they bloom) and then a warm and wet summer with good feeding to get at least one decently sized fan for next year's blooms.

Ok...hmmm that's a scary care guide 😅 I heared that it only creates one fan during its whole lifetime? Did you watch gardenia g at douentzas video about her visit to Schwerter? One day I will go there! Love that nursery

@@KarinsOrchids Well, they are a lot easier to keep alive and happy. Quite indestructable to be honest. But they often just refuse to bloom (maybe because they are too happy🤣). And yes, they are actually sympodial. They put out these stalks that look a lot like bloom spikes at first but will sprout leaves and eventually a new fan will grow. Imagine a bloom spike ending in a single keiki. And over time, you will have multiple storeys of fans. You can give them a mini bamboo trellis to climb but the stalks are pretty sturdy and can hold multiple fans above them.

Tolumnia looks amazing! And lepthotes! Yes it is bloom size, not sure it will be able to grow in living room conditions thou. And N. Falcara! My favorite. So many nice orchids! What an unboxing! Thank´s for watching! :-) Klart det finns plats! De flesta är ju såpass små och växer långsamt. Snart dax för en "giveaway" med bara om plantorna är fria från scale. Schwerter har ett utmärkt utbud till bra priser. Väldigt fräscha plantor. Ibland ngot små men alltid i god kondition. Tack för din goa kommentar :-) Ha en fin julvecka!

Happy New Years! Love your haul - recently got A TON of plants from Schwerter as well. They're an absolute staple nursery and I check them out regularly. Almost got the sukhakulii as well but then decided against it only to pick up a flask of it later haha. The Tolumnia scandens has been producing new growth after new growth but no signs of blooms yet... I don't like their Paphiopedilum mix. Too dry for my conditions.

Happy new year! Yes I started to watch your haul but got busy as always, never seem to complete any tasks lately 🙏💥 Well I thought their paphiopedilum mix was too dry but no, ot for rhe plain green leafed ones,, I only have about 50% humidity and 26 degrees celcius 🙏 Happy growing to you in 2022!

@@KarinsOrchids Haha - don't worry, I get it! I only have the mottled-leaved Paphiopedilums and they really dried out in the Schwerter potting mix. Happy growing to you as well!

Hi there! Nice to see you here! Well they were VERY nice, the only ones not to my pleasing was the falcata sizewise and the p argus which I thought would be taller but maybe they can bloom that small. Anyway, there will problebly be 2 parts on the Repot or not repot video, it turned out to be 1 hour long....so I better split it up. It will be uploaded after christmas since there will be 2 pts og bloom and spike videos after this one! Have a nice holiday week! Take care :-)

You like fairrieanum better than sanderianum? Don't get me wrong, fairrieanum is very nice, but the petals on sanderianum are just so extra. And then there is rungsuriyanum, which is very rare but very beautiful (huge blooms on a tiny plant as well).

WOW the petals on the sanderianum....I see what you mean and the little one rungsuriyanum is really nice as well. It´s just something real special about the fairrieanums appearence.. the very short petals gives it its characteristics I think. Paphs are a lot more interesting than most orchid genuses.
