U started the race on 85% worn softs w alonso, that’s why the first stint ended up kinda awkward. Make sure to check the wear percentages on the strategy screen because it’s a bit buggy sometimes in regards to which set of tires it selects. Pretty sure this time it was because u had no new softs left though, but still.

I advice being more conserved on the tires especially the softs. Pushing them to much will drop so hard plus they heat up like mad.

you have to relise that tires die off under 50% wear so if you run attack mode at the start on softs you will have worse where than those around later

Ben, not sure you will see this but if you have to be in a DRS train, charge the ERS and then when in neutral save on tyres and fuel then use all 3 when you undercut or overtake

Without losing to much pace wile charging your ers you can set your ers on charge in the last straight and then the first two turns charge your ers really high after that you can just set it on neutral for the rest of the lap and and repeat until you feel comfortable we’re your ers is. It doesn’t work on every track but that’s the best way I found to charge it without losing too much pace.

When doing the setup and strategy pre-race, you can already tell them to push and put ers on overtake to start the race

The next experiment you should run is an all out aggressive run from the #2. That conserve is killing you. The tire wear on the top challengers doesn't matter. The rest of the cars are seemingly setup for generally more pace in the later stages.

I've often wondered whether this is worth it, you're making the car heavier but you can then push for longer, I've always felt the two things sort of cancel each other out...have you experienced this actually delivering faster race times?

I love that Ben literally trashed Alonso's strategy only for Piastri to finish higher, just like he screwed Albon several times last season 😂 26:16 Do we have another set of mediums for Alonso? We do have another set of mediums 26:25 Alonso's tyres are holding on well 28:05 Yeah we have to go hards for Alonso, we don't have another set of mediums So you've basically threw away P7 for Alonso and 6 points, to gain P9 for Piastri and get 2 points, but in the end you've made your favorite look better, totally worth it! 😂And of course it is Alonso's fault, the Ferrari grade strategy had absolutely nothing to do with it 😂

When it came to picking my powertrain for Mercedes on S2 it only let me pick Mercedes. Dumb question but is the case for any of those four teams? I.e. is the option only available to the smaller teams who don't produce their own engines etc? Makes sense but then it is also a pointless asking me the question when I can only pick one.

So I've paused watching this series 3-4 episodes ago even though I really like Ben's content and have been watching career modes since F1 2018. This is BY FAR the most frustrating series he's done because even though Ben sometimes makes slight mistakes like wrong tire choices or switches ERS, tire and engine modes once or twice a race, the coding of this game is so atrocious these factors don't hold a candle to how crap the overtake & side by side racing is implemented. I've left a really long comment a few episodes back that ended in me saying I'd rather not watch this series if the races are not decided on driver skill or raw speed but if the game's coding "allows" for an overtake, let alone realistic racing. You can see clearly how there are certain corners where the chase driver simply won't go for an alternate line NO MATTER WHAT, the lead driver could literally park it on the apex and the car behind would not overtake even though more than half the track is clear. I think this is due to the game only having 1 fast race line and 1 alternate line through corners to defend. The implementation of said system is just so terrible, I wonder if patching side by side racing will even make a difference. All the realism in the world is lost on me if the drivers lift on corner exits or in side by side moments on straights, that's just bad coding and apparently a complete lack of play testing and application of testing feedback.

Ben please learn how to optimise your ERS it’s painful hearing you scream at a driver to overtake while you have 0% ERS. Before you overtake someone try make sure you have ERS fuel an tyres to push for at least a lap or long enough to clear the DRS of the car at head of a train or else you’ll just drag them with you and when your ERS get low they’ll just blow back by you as they did all race long 😅
