That's a smart upgrade. Helps with comfort, and will prevent fatigue and discomfort. Big confidence builder imo. All you have to do is unscrew those tethers from the old seat and screw them in to the new one. They're usually self tappers.

As far as I understand, the two straps under the seat should be used to lock the driver's and passenger's helmets

Yes, you can also use them as a tie down point.

It's worth the upgrade, but you might want to look at the corbin seat. It is more expensive.

which colour blue did you go for on the piping?

I'm not sure if it was a specific blue. I think it was just a blue option and it looked close enough.
