I believe Fluent Community built something like this. Use case looks similar.

Good question. This is a tough one to answer because it’s hard to answer without the other product company getting their feelings hurt. So let me answer it objectively, you can draw your own conclusions. Personally, I think the 2 products are trying to solve different problems, but I understand that people will want to compare the two. The main differences are that we are sticking close to core WordPress to ensure all the WordPress capabilities, benefits, 3rd party plugins, etc are fully supported. They have built a standalone side-loading vue.js app. This means it loads along side your website, doesn’t use custom post types, can’t render elements from your 3rd party plugins. For example, if you wanted to add a form built with any form builder, maybe for a quiz or a poll, it can’t render. You can bring things into their app from your plugins. With SureDash we retain all the benefits of what WordPress has to offer, your 3rd party plugins, native WordPress features. For example, you can schedule posts, automate posts, etc. Hooks, filters, custom fields etc. You can bring things into SureDash from your plugins. There are many simple things like this that we can take for granted, but since we are sticking close to WordPress, you get all the benefits. They have built a standalone side-loading vue.js app with custom database tables. Many WordPress functionality won’t not work and many 3rd party plugins will work with it either. It sits alongside your website, vs being a part of it. However they have stated they are going to try to let you take discussions out of their app and into your website. This may be people's preference, but we are building something different. Core Differences: Integration: SureDash is a fully customizable WordPress plugin, seamlessly integrating with your existing site and leveraging its features (plugins, custom fields, hooks, filters, scheduling tools, core WordPress functionality, etc.). Fluent Community, on the other hand, operates as a separate side-loading application alongside your website, which is not compatible with most plugins that may be in your WordPress tech stack and many basic WordPress core capabilities. Scope and Functionality: SureDash aims to provide a comprehensive solution for delivering value via content, courses, community, events, and a resource library, all within a single unified user interface. Fluent Community primarily focuses on discussions, with courses to go along with it. The overall functionality of SureDash is broader today, but that could change. Customization: SureDash's close to core WordPress-based architecture allows for extensive customization to match your branding and specific requirements. Fluent Community, being a standalone side-loading application, offers less flexibility and integration. Performance: SureDash will leverage the Interactivity API for performance within the WordPress environment and we are working on custom database tables. Fluent Community, as a custom vue.js application (which is why most 3rd party plugins don’t work in it), may offer speed advantages in isolation, but this comes at the cost of integration with your existing WordPress setup and plugins. Pricing: SureDash plans will be at a different price point-we're aiming for $399 for 100 sites with a split payment option-compared to Fluent Community's $999 for 50 sites. The best choice depends on your priorities.

Some quick feedback after watching the video: DESIGN - Would like to see more granular customizability around various UI elements, e.g.: - cover image dimensions (looked too narrow in video) - main content width - side bar (panel) width - user profile window (its very small and Cover Image is relatively tiny...maybe have the profile photo on the cover instead?) - take some inspiration from FluentCommunity and incorporate what works (nothing wrong with competitor research!) UX & FEATURES - a more natural, intuitive naming convention instead of "Space Group" and "Space" which is overlapping and confusing (e.g. "Category (or Area)" and "Content"). - custom icons (let user upload/select image for Space Groups & Spaces) - tags (like #ProductA for easier search/categorization) - lock/password function for private content (e.g. VIP members, purchased customers, etc.) - a chat/messaging function (public & private chat, private messages, etc.) - whitelabel and/or rebranding (for agencies or serious businesses) INTEGRATIONS - Would love to see "SureCRM" developed (with an early-bird unlimited LTD, like FluentCRM offered many years ago🥰) which would synergize so perfectly within the Sure+WordPress ecosystem.

Congrats Adam & the team. Looking forward to it. Just a quick one, would it be possible to assign users/ have managers role to manage the entire suredash from the frontend and not have to give them wp backend access?
@WPCrafter3 күн бұрын
Thank you! And that's a great question. Our early release will need access to the backend for managing and moderating. However, we have already received feedback that it would be nice to be able to do these things on the front end as well. So we will start assessing what we need to build for that and get to work.

Looks pretty neat! Just curious: what are the main differences between SureMembers and SureDash?
@WPCrafter3 күн бұрын
That's a great question! SureMembers is for controlling access, it's mostly a backend plug-in. That gives you great controls over what someone can access and when. On the other hand SureDash is a front and experience on how you deliver the content to people. They both serve different purposes, but worked beautifully together.
@markuserikssen2 күн бұрын

Really looking forward to this. Fluent Community is slick but LMS feature is limited by having no quiz capability or direct integration with Fluent Forms. So you can't include (as far as I can see) a Fluent form in an LMS lesson, or a Fluent Form Quiz in the same. I assume by being close to core, SureDash won't have those limitations.
@WPCrafter3 күн бұрын
That is exactly it. All your 3rd party plugins, which make WordPress powerful, will work with SureDash. We have this approach because most creators already have their preferred stack of tools and we didn't want to limit how people use SureDash.

Regarding events, Will we be able to add live video streams with payment/ticket options?
@WPCrafter3 күн бұрын
Hey, so they initial implementation for events is, you create an even with a date, time, and link to where the event will take place, for example Zoom or whichever platform. You members can RSVP and ask questions in advance. If you streaming service allows you to embed the video stream, it can be embedded into SureDash. I can see how you could sell access to an event and stream it live inside of SureDash to people that have paid for it. I will keep this in mind, maybe make a video on it.
@bryankjones3 күн бұрын
@@WPCrafter Thank you. However, if I were to use KZbin, then anyone would be able to share the native link externally. I'm guessing that a secondary service like Vimeo which can lock the strream to a specific domain would be needed as well. Any thoughts?
@WPCrafterКүн бұрын
@@bryankjones Yea, you would want to use a service that can be embedded. But I think the best use is just to send people to a Zoom or similar, record it, then add the edited video later to the Event listing.

How about suremember? Do we need suremember if we use suredash?
@WPCrafter3 күн бұрын
That is a great question! We build our products so that they work fantastic together, but our approach is that they're not dependent upon each other. My experience has been that users don't like when one product is dependent upon another product. In this situation, with SureDash you can give people access to everything with a purchase/registration, or have it be open to everyone. If you want more granular access controls, and maybe drip feeding content, that's where SureMembers is a great addition.
