I've had mine a few months now and absolutely love it. It's the go-to for pretty much any ride, good in winter too with the pinlock visor. The tint isn't so dark so you're able to ride home after dark if you get caught out! Love it and well worth the money.

I have one and it's not any good. 1 During winter it's very cold as its has got those permanent open chin vents. 2 the visor only has 3 tensor levels and no very small town riding vent. 3 During colder days The visor fogs up ALOT. The pinlock doesn't seal well on the bottom therfore resulting on massive amounts of fog in the nose and surrounding areas. 4 Its not areodinamic over 70 mph 5 its very noisy.

Good helmet, fits super tight for me so i bought smaller cheekpads and solved that. Its my first “retro styled” helmet… but it is a loud helmet compared to any other shoeis ive owned so ill be looking for a different helmet for higher speed touring. Another part of it being so slim on the head (which i love) is to make sure your comms fits in it without killing your ears… my cardos speakers are a bit too thick
@roverroko306 Жыл бұрын
I don’t have a problem with noise, I honestly don’t believe it’s much louder than any other Shoei. Once riding at high speed, 150kp/h or higher I shut the visor all the way shut and with the chin curtain it’s not bad at all. Plus it’s clean and very good with airflow so for me it’s a very good highway helmet. Plan to buy the new Cardo edge cause it’s very slim so it’ll be fine.

I bought one from you a few weeks ago, got a great discount on the outgoing 22-05 spec, so comfortable, light and quiet too. I was impressed with the instore service, left to browse but was attended to quickly when I was ready to try out some 'lids. The only two small criticisms of the 'Glamster', other than the name of course, is that it's a little tight around the ears, but that I can rectify with some minor adjustment of the position once on and buckled up. The other is that there's no 'drop down sun visor' or a factory tinted visor currently available? But, to be perfectly honest, these are fairly minor points and I've put up with far worse in the past!
@UrbanRiderlondon Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks you for sharing. There is no drop down visor to keep the shell size as smallest as possible and also to keep the 'retro' design however the smoke visors are available for the Glamster, you can find them here: www.urbanrider.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=glamster+visor+ . hope this helps! - Iza

With the new ECE 2206 standards, prices increased by almost 20% vs 2205 . This is one of the best helmet on the mkt, anyway the new price of 450 GBP (505 Euro) is hard to pay. The previous 2205 version is currently offered for (average) 320 GBP (basic colours) by some shops on the web. 2205's is cheaper, lighter, smaller. I'll look for that

Didn’t like the name at first, actually still don’t, but it’s a brilliant all round helmet! Even quieter than my Neotec II (which is heavy & loud by comparison to other modular helmets). One thing I’d like to see is a photochromic visor for this model. I have one on my NXR and it’s brilliant, especially if you’re gonna make changing visors out a pita! Overall 9/10 for the Glamster 💯

I have it I absolutely love it 😊, the only thing that would make this helmet perfect would be a photochromic CPB-1 visor with pin lock… Please UR can you communicate this to Shoei so they would make one, I know they have them for other helmets so why not this one?

Bought mine last year after using a Shoei Qwest for several years. Thoughts so far are these. It looks great and feels much smaller and lighter on your head than the Qwest which is a real positive and the noise levels are the same with the chin guard fitted on both helmets. The downside of the Glamster is the visor, it’s either fully open or closed which prevents riding with it cracked open a few mm - this does restrict ventilation. The visor system is just not that great unfortunately. Another thing is the tinted visor is quite dark restricting it’s use for all conditions. Much better to offer a light tint that can be left fitted all the time - the Qwest offered this and I never needed to change the light tint visor the whole time a I used it. I still love the Glamster and would buy another but it’s not perfect.
@johnm6683 Жыл бұрын
You can ride with it cracked. I do it all the time and it flows air nicely without hitting you in the eyes. You can’t ride with it halfway open but the air flow is so good when it’s cracked I’m not sure why you would need that.
@mariog4707 Жыл бұрын
@@johnm6683 actually John I’ve just returned from a trip to Scotland and having put the Glamster through a real test in all weather conditions and wearing it for many hours over several days I only have positive things to say about it. The visor was not as restrictive as I’d first feared and as you say with it cracked open it was enough to aid ventilation. Also the light weight and compact size made it super comfortable.

Amazing minimal design, I have been using one for almost two years and there isn't really any major flaw to address for the Glamster! However it must be taken for what is meant to be, is a retro styled helmet ideally appealing cafe racer, retro bikes and such...which in practical terms means, do not expect to wear it for highway/motorway trips and get the same level of comfort you could get from similiar priced helmets that use more modern designs...I mean there are certain compromise to deal with, to match the Glamster style, for instance the lower profile line that gives the chin that kind of 70s look...means that there isn't much distance (hence padding) from the rider's ears and the helmet lower edge, which I suspect must be the reason why the helmet is quite noisy yet around 100 kmh. But again I suppose that people aiming at these type of helmets are riding a classic bike or cafe racer, which means they are used to relative comfort like wind protection etc.
@roverroko306 Жыл бұрын
I use it all the time on my BMW R9T at speeds exiting even 180kph and sure there’s some noise but I also wore my most expensive helmet by Shoei at highway speeds and maybe just a tiny bit of difference in noise reduction was there. But it’s not any real significant amount. Plus due to this great helmet being so slim any movements once you stick your head out in the wind flow it jerks far less than the thicker, and more premium helmets by Shoei. So I do have a fairing on my R9T but it’s not very tall screen, once duck down it’s just fine. There’s taller windscreen available for my fairing for my BMW. Makes a very good comfortable ride for highway speed. However I decided I am selling my R9T and buying a Husky Norden 901 which also has shorter and taller windshields available. Plus it’s a way more comfortable bike for longer riding, definitely will be using my Glamster on that bike a lot as well. All I want and need is a photochromic CPB-1 visor
