I bought a demo pair of 2016 Stockli Stormrider 88 177. They are amazing on hard pack but suck in the soft stuff and crud. I stopped at a local ski shop on my way back from the mountain and they gave me a pair of Head KORE 99 180. I am not sure what year they are but I am hoping that they go through crud and slush and powder really good. The days that it is hard packed I can use my Stormriders. Spring skiing in Colorado is mostly about powder, crud, and slush. Do you think this is the right ski or should I even go wider under the foot with the 105? The other thing I heard and that I just read you say was that the tails of the skis aren't very forgiving or you could say playful. It sounds like they are more playful on the newer models. What are your thoughts on that?

Hi, just found this video and i wanted to ask. Im very very tempted to buy the kore 93 and i could get a sweet deal on them. The only thing putting me off is that theyre 189cm only. Im 6'2 (around 185cm), i'm a bit more heavy than most guys in my height range and i'm usually skiing fast turns, but i like some playfulness as well. I'd like to use them for all mountain, pretty much 50/50 pow/piste. Basically i'm trying to ask how tall are u and if you think that they'd be too long for me? Thanks in advance :)
@PatrickClifford6 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching! Thats for sure the size for you. Im on the 189 and I’m 5’11, 175. I haven’t skied them in the 93 waist, but I’d think since you’re bigger and the waist is smaller you’d definitely not be going too big. It’s the right size for me in the 189. Hopping for a big winter here!!

@@fernandb.6162 Hi bro, i got an even sweeter deal on Salomon QST 99 so got them instead. Lovely ski. From what i heard the kores should be better on piste and have little less float. Wesley Poe Wesley Poe if that 10” is perfect snow (which can be rare) these in the 105’s are so fun. If it’s anything deeper or variable conditions I grab some fatty’s, usually my Surface Daily’s that are 119 waist. jahforce7 hi! I haven’t skied any of those but I stand by the Head Kore being the bomb!! It looks like the skis you mentioned and have been on are carving / racing speed machines. I’m coming from a world of big powder skis for a number of years and downsizing the waist with the Kore 105. For me, it’s a ski that has made groomers a blast again while being Great fun in powder though there are some days I grab a fatty still. For you, I would just hope they would fulfill the racing carving feel of what you’re used to but they will surely add to the fun on deeper snow days! ❄️

@PatrickClifford3 жыл бұрын
I like the length- that mind bender 108 looks sick- I haven’t had the pleasure of trying them. I think the biggest difference will be in stiffness. I’ve only flexed the K2 by hand and the tail seems more forgiving. The Kore, I’d say seems more aggressive- they will occasionally get ahead of me. Hope that helps and let me know which you end up w and how u like it 🤘

Serious thanks! I actually was just skiing that day thinking about telling my brothers about my new skis and kind of randomly posted it on KZbin. I make tons of ski videos but this one for some reason has kind of taken off (at least for my video watch’s) it’s been fun to chat with stoked skiers all over because of it. Oh, I’d say not wonderful in the bumps, but OK. I’m not skiing moguls very often though and probably not the best at judging what ski is best there. It seems like it’s wider, longer, and more rocker than an ideal bump ski would be. Again though- I’m far from a bump expert.

How do they perform on corduroy?
@PatrickClifford2 жыл бұрын
Yes! They’ve evolved as the ski I take out any day that I’m focused on groomers. I’m a powder junkie and they manage soft snow well so if I find some soft they work. If I skied more groomers I’d probably buy a solid carver with a narrower waist in the 85-90 range.
@danielfrenette87213 жыл бұрын
So do you still love those skis? Would you recommend them? You went wit the 188: how tall are you? Love the video. It could be the only push I needed!!!!
@PatrickClifford3 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, I do still love them - with a side note. I always have them with me when I head up to ski but I have to admit I’m riding them only about 1 in 5 days. If I’m skiing off piste and looking for airs I actually have been grabbing either my Icelandic Nomad 115 or some Surface Daily’s. The heads handle pow very well when the snow is excellent. When it’s grabby or manky (set up or heavy) I seem to get thrown around on the heads more. I also get shin bang on the Kores when I’m hitting airs. I attribute this to the very stiff tail. I love them on groomers and perfect ego powder, but right now my best ever I guess are my Nomads. I live in a place that gets good snow often (today was epic) and I focus on finding untouched powder 99% of my time. I guess I’m a sucker for fattys. I weigh 180 and am 6’.

Wow, nice video. I was almost convinced to buy the Enforcer 100, but i'm in doubt with the Kore 99. Have you skied the Enforcer, to give me some tips VS the kores. Thanks.
@PatrickClifford6 жыл бұрын
Pack21 thanks for checking out the video! I haven’t had a chance to ski the Enforcer but I hear good things about them. I have now had more time on my kore 105 skis and I have found that for me they make groomers so fun and when I get great quality powder they are a blast. When it’s a little heavy or set up off piste I’ve found that I prefer to go with fatter boards (right now I have the Scott Scrapper 117). They turn grabby tough snow conditions into easy fun skiing, while my Kore 105’s only want to lock in and end up throwing me around a bit. As for the difference in the kore 99 and enforcer, unless you live and ski somewhere w excellent quality pow all the time, I don’t think you can go wrong w either. I like the lightness of the Kore a lot and they are stiff enough to charge high speed on groomers and blast through chop. Good luck, sorry I’m not more specific on which will work best but hopefully you can find a good deal on one of them and that can help make your decision.
@ageofaqu6 жыл бұрын
Pack21 I was also looking for the same comparison. I own the 93 and 100 enforcer and love them. I’ve skied the 93 mostly due to Aussie skiing conditions. They do struggle a tad in anything over 25cm of fresh snow. My wild guess the kore would float better in pow and the enforcer would have a slight edge on the kore in stability and dampness. Would love to also compare the kore 105 to the QST 106. I own the QST which floats like a dream, but would do with some better firm snow performance. Which Im having a wild guess again that the kore would be perfect in between.
