Hi, unfortunately, I haven't tried to remove the db killer on the stock exhaust. I just replaced the whole muffler with an after-market one. Maybe someone has a video out there to show how to. Cheers mate!

My CB500X 2019 has a different exhaust, it has two holes. I just received my aftermarket one and will change it tomorrow :) its much lighter too but its easier to lose some weight myself as on the bike

Yes, after-market once are lighter and sound better, if you like louder sound. I'm still enjoying mine and I use the horn less as the exhaust alerts others. Enjoy ur exhaust after installing. Cheers!

What this video needed was a high power drive-by sound sample, not just a tweak at idle speed. If you fit a raucous exhaust, you have to demonstrate it raucously!

hey first off great video, secondly i just realised while u were taking off the stock exhaust that it has only 1 exit pipe, whilst mine has 2 (still cb500x 19 model) and tbh i cant complain about the oem exhaust as it gives a rumbling sound as i ride, or drop gears. just a thought thats all :)

Yeah, I think the exit pipe issue is region based. In China, and also as I've seen in other videos, we get one exit. In other countries/regions, there are 2. I don't know exactly why, probably different regulations. I imagine your stock exhaust will sound better if you have 2 exit pipes. The one one pipe is uninspiring. Cheers!

@@TheRideandPlace i think it could be European regulations ( i live in europe) so could be that eu models came out like that, infact US and Eu models differ slightly (abs especially) all eu models come with it as stock. US versions have the option to buy with or without... beats me.

Yeah, and one more thing. China models come without hazard switch, so hazard cannot be engaged, instead the hazard button as on other regions' bikes is for headlights, and no flash to pass button. Strange cos even smaller bikes here have those functions.

It sounds good but when you pump more air through the engine the fi will compensate and spray MORE fuel so doubtful to help fuel economy.

So far, I think fuel cosumption has reduced a little bit when I'm gentle on the throttle. But when I ride like a maniac, just as any machine, consumption is higher. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, that new muffler does sound much better (not strangled). But there must be a reason for the OEM muffler being so heavy. The low price and low weight of the new muffler suggests that there is no catalytic converter in it.

No, it wasn't but it was advertised together with the muffler for the cb500x so I bought them together.

Hi. The CB500X is a bike I'll easily recomment to anyone seeking an all rounder. It is reliable and the way it's built itself looks the part. It is light, nimble, good-looking and fuel consumption snd servicing costs are low. While it is great on the road, it also gives you a feel of some adventure and when you do have to ride off-road, it can tackle it with no difficulty compared to road or sports bike. This means you never have to worry too much where you ride it. Regarding the vibrations, yes it's true that after 5000rpm, there are some vibrations. The truth is, the bike will mostly be ridden between 80-100km so it shouldn't be a major issue. One of my viewers suggested that if you change the front sprocket to 16T, there is no vibration even at 130km/h. I can't verify this because I've not done it but it works for him. In all, if you want a headache free, reliable bike, go for it. It's a sweet ride.

Surprisingly it has worked really good so far. Yes, it will not perform exactly like the original but I haven't noticed differences so far. It sounds much better than the original and I haven't noticed drop in speed or increased fuel consumption. So far so good.

I put a clone exhaust on one of my cb500x and left the other one stock. The stock bike has much more low end power and more zip.
