Just bought a BG 2.0 TS a few days ago. Fun gun. Shoots nicely. I'm going to love it. Only have a couple hundred rounds through it at this point. So far just a 100 or so rounds of Blazer 95 gr FMJ and 20 Hornaday Hydra Shok. I suppose not really enough of either to really address feed reliability BUT I had no feed problems thus far. I've had a Shield Plus for over a year and have been quite happy with it but, for me, I did not carry it much because it is still too big for my body and my clothes. I rarely felt comfortable carrying it much of the time because of printing. That's why I bought the BG 2.0. I do love the size. I have a sticky SM2 and the BG 2.0 fits very unobtrusively into my blue jean pants. I am much more comfortable carrying it most of the time. I've had had two minor issues that I have been able to remedy. As many people have said, the gun, being new, takes a bit more effort to rack than my shield plus and my thumb safety is much tougher to manipulate than on my Shield Plus. Both issues may resolve with time I think (hope). Issue #1: I have found that with the safety 'on', I was not initially able to lock the slide back because the slide was, I believe, binding a bit on the safety mechanism. I have found that if I put some upward pull on the slide with I pull it back, it will pass over the bump and allow me to lock it back. At my range, someone also showed me that if I have the safety 'off', that I can lock the slide easily (as with my Shield Plus). Issue #2: After loading just 50 or so rounds through the 10 round mag AND the 12 round mag, I found I could not load more than two bullets and even with my my loader device, I could not get past two bullets in either mag. I discovered that the problem in both instances was that the orange followers on the front edges, the down side points of the follower were engaging the first set of round observation holes and hanging up the path of the follower. I disassembled the magazine and rounded the points a bit and back beveled them a bit. I removed a very small amount of material for both. It worked well. No more problems in maxing out the mags to capacity in that regard.

@@kevinrichardson8859 I quickly read over my post. I’m not seeing where I referenced having shot 11k rounds through my bodyguard. If I did, it was a typo. So far I’m at 500 rounds of Winchester flat nose fmj with no issues at all. Mas Ayoob was recommended the Underwood XD type (fluted) self defense rounds for 380s but I did experience significant feed problems with them. In the process of trying out a few other SD rounds but no conclusions yet. I do feel the gun is still ‘loosening ‘ up. I’m still enjoying the gun and hoping they get their magazine production ramped up.

Your slide not locking back is not your mag. It’s your hand riding the slide lock lever. This happens when shooting small guns and your hand rides up high on the gun. No hate just facts. Good review though.
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics Ай бұрын
No I covered that in the video, only the 10rd mag was doing it. I even showed how my "unique" grip make hitting the slide lock impossible. I do not have this problem like others do because I refuse to follow the norm of the thumbs forward method. And like I said, the 12rd mag consistantly held open while the 10rd mag consitantly did not- it's the mag. So, not hate, just facts...

@Ninoo187 - Uh quite simply put, that would be every keyboard warrior that gets on here and tells me I don't know what I'm doing or I'm wrong when I'm not- *especially* when the proof that I'm right is literally in the video. And with 1000 videos, 60k subs, and 20k views per day- it's a daily occurance. Imagine your sentiments and patience with people when as a professional shooter who literally shoots for a living, every day you get some guy on the internet telling you you don't know what you're doing and you're wrong about everything. That's my life, every single day. I ignore a lot, but I won't ignore defamation of character and misinformation. Some people mean well or are trying to help, but that should be accompanied by "maybe" or "perhaps," not "you are wrong." Straight telling me I'm wrong when I know for a fact I'm not is where I draw the line. Amazing what people think they see from behind a screen when it's not their hands, eyes, ears and experience behind the trigger on that screen. I'm a professional, I shoot for a living and have been for years- I know what I'm doing. For someone to come into my place of business and tell me I'm clueless in front of my customers, you bet I'm going to have a colorful reaction to that...

I haven't shot the new Bodyguard, but I did recently get a couple of Shield Plusses, and like the gun in this video, three other Bodyguard reviews I've seen, and countless commenters' guns, they both shot left of the point of aim--in my case, so much so (about 4" at just 10 yards) that I had to get a sight pusher to adjust the sights, which is a royal pain to do while at the range. And it wasn't me--it was the guns, an issue from the factory. Whatever device or method S&W is doing at the factory to set or calibrate these sights, they need to adjust it.

@@paulrybon8406 Actually there is two models. One with thumb safety and one without. I have both. On a pistol this small a safety is a great idea. I figure you can always leave it off if you don't want it. However, if you have to stuff it in your pocket in a hurry with no holster, an external safety is a must for the safety of you and others. ESPECIALLY with a light trigger like this pistol has. I'm all for the safety. Like I said, you can always leave it off. Mine shoots trait like a laser. Some folks received theirs from S&W with the sights installed too far to the right (measured with calipers) when new, so those will need a adjustment. I like mine way more than my Sig 365. Sorry Sig fan boys.

Ruger is most likely heavier on account of it's Sig like metal"gun" chassis. That's why I don't particularly care about the LCP Max ergonomically even though I have one. I prefer the high grip and trigger guard undercut and hopefully the ergonomics of the Bodyguard 2 which I hope is comparable to the CZ P10C. That's one gun that ergonomically Glock should emulate. I hope it fills the hand width wise sort of like the LCP Max. Also,i would definitely install a set of trijicon U notch night sights with the bright colored front sight. @BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics Ай бұрын
Well my friend, ask and you shall recieve! On my particular example, the safety IS what I would call stiff and difficult to flip on and off with just my single thumb, due to the combination of it being so small, almost flush to the slide, and a little stiff. Manageable, I can do it every time, but it does take a lot of effort and smashing my thumb into it. However, the texturing on it is very agressive so I don't think sweat would be an issue. Again, this is my experience with mine- maybe some are easier to to flip on and off or maybe it could be made easier by doing it 100 times and wearing in better. If this is a concern of yours, then I would definately recommend inspecting in person, maybe even a few examples if possible if you're trying to find one that works well...

Fully understand, and it is a great gun. I was going crazy in my review video of it last year because it's such a great shooter and the magazine capacity is awesome.

I love this new Bodyguard 2.0! Like I said, I have the Sig 365X, the Max, and an original bodyguard. That little Bodyguard 2.0 just needs a break in like most pistols. My Sig was also finicky, and so was the Max. The weight of this new Bodyguard is about half of the Sig. I still prefer carrying my Ruger LCR 8 shot snub nose hammer-less 22LR revolver. That thing is a laser! I prefer smaller calibers. Practice point shooting more. No need for sights when you practice point shooting. There's no time for sights when someone is 7 feet away and trying to hurt you. Just saying. On a side note, regular old 95 grain hardball will knock a bad guy's dick in the dirt. No need for fancy stuff. Just need to mess up internal organs.

At 10:20, it appears that your orange mag follower is broken. I was skipping around; did you elaborate on this? What happened?

Well don't skip around lol. And no, that's just where the factory tech marked the followers with a black marker, I'm assuming to indicate either caliber/model or that it passed it's inspection (which it shouldn't have).

@@BuckeyeBallistics I thought the same for a minute also until I caught a glimpse of your 12 Rd. mag follower.

So how does the Bodyguard 2.0 compare to the CSX size wise?
@BuckeyeBallistics
@BuckeyeBallistics Ай бұрын
A lot smaller, and of course way lighter. About half an inch shorter in both directions, and a quarter inch thinner.
