Excellent review. I agree the mismatch in color temperatures makes the mixed beam look more unnatural and distracting. But having said that, just using in flood mode looks like it is good enough for most uses. If one doesn't like the headband, I wonder if after market versions that the light will fit into are available?

wow, have Sofirn run out of rubber mounts? Well, finally we got the simplest, but quick-release mounts, wow... And the flashlight itself.... controversial, because of the optics. Again, to reduce the cost, they are pushing Liza. They could have made 2 diodes, one with an aluminum reflector for distance, and the other with a 60-dpi for close range. But again... I think that a headlamp does not need high beam at all... since you need a very flexible neck))) By the way, the switching is cool.

You forget the flood light (6 LEDS) are 5000k. That's perfect combination for me with a thrower with 6000k. You want a thrower with power. You don't care about colour accuracy at 200m... That's for the flood light at close proximity, reading maps etc.

You don't need 2000 lumens in the dark for a headlamp. This luminous intensity is useless for a headlamp. It will discharge de battery in less than 1,5 hours. A good headlamp has at mot 600-700 Lumens. And one of the best in the world have under 500 lumens, but battery keeps over 10 hours...

Hello sir. I need 2000 lm or more. Try walking down the steep hill with rocks, wet, difficult terrains. 2000 lm or more is built for this situation. Flat wide areas too. I don't care about battery discharge on high output but what I care is my safety. I need to see things clearly. Trail runners go down muddy, slippery hill. They need to see clearly and far for their safety. That's why 2000 lm or more is for. Carrying more than one flashlight and spare batteries is a must. Don't rely on just only one flashlight. Rubbish - 500 lumens is not enough for my needs. It's fine if you're walking down a dark lane, but in the city I want to be seen by cars, ebikes etc, not run over. I also want to check for foxes far ahead in the park where I walk my dogs, so don't confuse your own needs for everyone's!
