Respect the tester, explain technical details as if they are junior developers, show some code and diagrams. They are as intelligent as any other and want to be involved. They will respect you that you respect them as equals

These are great tips Stefan! Thanks so much for contributing your ideas. I really love the respect for junior developers. I have seen more senior folks miss out on this far too many times.

I’ve started to ask, “this isn’t how I would do it, how did you come to this?” Trying to make it a conversation and find how to get there.

These videos are pure gold The more I work in the industry, the more I appreciate the insights The industry is still really very immature and quite silly in a lot of ways

You don't really need to impress anyone. Just do your best, try, learn and people will give you respect, attention, etc automatically. Don't waste your time on politics. Just do your job, be open to new things and to new people and new ways of doing stuff. You will be just fine. Advice from someone with 20+ years in software development. 12 years as consultant on many different projects across many domains. P.S. don't be afraid to look a little bit stupid sometimes. It is normal. Ask questions if you need to get info to complete your task, minimum assumptions.

In my current project my team (the consultants) are in the phase after holding our water and finally pitching ideas. The ideas weren’t received well and there was resistance. The consultants team morale has really been sinking and slipping into toxicity. It’s been hard to dig into the resistance because some of the architecture decisions were made so long ago I’m not sure their leads even remember why. I guess we’ll have to stay positive and try to keep digging/Keep trying to build and maintain trust.

The existing team may have raised issues or suggested improvements and have been told not to spend "resources" on them by management. Should also find out what these are as it's very annoying when someone new raises the same thing, but gets listened to.

I don't have any tattoos. I'm not sure what your question is. Are you asking if you think you can get a job on a change advisory board if you do have tattoos?

Sorry if my English are not good. I'm asking if you can approve my tattoo. I've been informed all my changes are need to go to a "CAB" but I don't know who it is or what I have to say to them.
