Sarasota is very expensive like in Lakewood Ranch. What I wish Sarasota had more modern designs. They use a lot of costal and Mediterranean but I love contemporary.

They appear to be a master planned community over there, but pricing is substantially higher aside from the townhomes and entry level builders. Maybe the community itself is more developed/further along in its plans and residents aren't having to leave as often to go to those larger big cities.

Why is there such a big difference in design from the East coast to the west coast of Florida? I'm looking at Sarasota the design difference is big plus the home prices are higher.

I believe the West Coast has different builders than down in Palm Beach. And over there they have a lot of new construction in nearby areas like Tampa/Cape Coral/Central Florida that may be more affordable for people to compare to. Versus here, Miami/Broward doesn't really have new construction so Palm Beach is the hotspot and Port St Lucie has even more affordable options.

Those tend to get built more in Miami. I have heard of some going up in Jupiter and one small building in Stuart, but usually by the time there is something staged and ready to record they've largely sold out. Those projects tend to have a lot of reconstruction sales.
