I just picked up mine. 2021, Hatchback Mitsubishi Mirage, Carbonite edition, black! man is it slick looking. The Sedan is definitely way bigger looking then the hatchback. It felt very much like a normal sized car. (This is someone who also owns a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS) but I opted for the hatchback as I felt like it suited my driving style better. The hatchback felt slightly better handling and of course turning it around and using it was much easier. It truly felt like a nice little 90s hatchback that many people grown to love. These cars aren't really that small when it comes to sitting in them. Its not like a small little Geo Metro at all. It felt nice and me and the salesman were quite a bit apart. The 78 hp isnt all that bad either. Every reviewer throws a fit over those small numbers. but lets not forget that most iconic little hatches made around that figure stock. It keeps up with traffic good for a CVT. The manual was nice but this is my daily and I didn't want to bother. It is a fun car to drive and get into corners with. Its light, nimble and makes decent power for its size. I definitely see tuner potential! Especially if you opt for JDM spec upgrades in the next few years. As this is a K car thats been slightly upsized for Western markets. You can definitely see a future of just endless K car parts for this thing. Unfortunately while the US hasn't embraced the idea very much. I know you Europeans have had experience with tiny cars and tiny engines. Look, its not the most glorious hatch/sedan out there. There are definitely better options for your buck, that is if you have the wallet space. But if you are starting out with your first car or want something thats going to get you to A-B with AC and efficiency. This is DEFINITELY a good buy and investment. There is a lot of overturn because the car does its intended purpose well. Its a FIRST car and a STARTER car for many people. Mitsubishi knows this and is quite happy there is a abundance of them. The new redesign has drawn in more people. I know in 10 years this thing will still be on the road and in that 10 year span Ill probably throw some ridiculous mods to just make it fun or pass it on to the next family member who needs a car. lastly, as a mechanic who works on my own car. Its so simple and easy to fix. That was the biggest selling point to me and even the salesman was saying it was a big point why some people buy these. Its not a rolling plastic engine bay you cant get into when its time to replace a tensioner or put in a new compressor.

Nonsense, it is not only a city car. I cruised 140 km/h on the German Autobahn with it. Even uphill it could hold that speed with the 1.2 CVT.

"The lack of electric engines" Exactly. This is a strong point. Suzuki just went downhill since they install a hybrid system on ALL of their cars and I refuse to haul around a large battery system for driving once a week.

i just bought new One - in EUROP its under the label named : "SPACE STAR" in the US "MIRAGE"- the ergonomics of the car is perfect very easy to maneuver alot of space inside the Car very Convenient Car , very Easy to park Enough power for me also for the highways . I just Love this car , if i had the chance i would definitely buy unother one !

The city only aspect is quite off. Especially the 1.2 engine has a lot better power to weight than quite a lot of bigger non turbo cars. It's relatively efficient on the Autobahn when not going too fast.

If you never plan to keep it more than 100 000 miles, it is an OK car. Loud, ruckus, tough, but only the one with manual transmission, not the JATCO CVT timing bomb. Don't expect too much on the accident avoidance, survival of you life during small overlap crash, etc. A good gift for a step son that you hate.
