Finding out the factory wiring polarity is a must or they will sound like shit running one or more of the speakers with a reversed pos or neg!!!!!!!

I got a 2010 Hyundai Tuscon im looking to to do this to the stock speakers sound ok but when you get songs you want to hear bass with the bass just sorta cuts out. found some kickers that are 300 watt each that are in a set of 4 that i need should sound good when i get them.

Great video! I just picked up my 2016 civic today and adding better speakers is my first thing on my agenda. I’m not the most knowledgeable about wiring so I’m trying to keep it simple while still improving sound quality. I feel like most speakers I would need to bypass the stock amp to power and you have said in your comments that you didn’t and these still sound great! Would you recommend these speakers? I saw them at Best Buy today and was planning on starting with the front and in a month or so upgrade the rear speakers as well. Are they still sounding great?

Sonicelectronix or Crutchfield are the 2 best sources of information for car audio stuff. They sell speaker harness to avoid having to cut and splice into factory wiring. Highly recommend you check them out before anything.

hi, nice piece of info as for the speaker brackets. I need an info if you can help me out, the tweeters, are they separately wired from the head unit or do they share the same wire as for the door speakers as an extension from within the door panel??

hiddenlooks XX the tweeters are connected all in the same wire as the cone to the speaker. There is no additional wiring required for the tweeters

I have a Cerwin Vega subwoofer in my trunk: how do you think these would compliment that? I have the stock system in my 2011 corolla: I am debating on getting a pioneer touch screen stereo but how are these: I have some Cerwin Vega speakers in my car but the highs are a bit to harsh so I’m looking for some speakers that are more clear

I think a sub is a must if you want the full sound. These speakers make the sound clear and louder but you still need that sub for the good bass

You only need an amp for a sub really. If you have an upgraded head unit it should be plenty powerful

I’m looking at buying these in 6.5 for my Kia Forte. I like to listen to my music loud and just jam lol. My stock speakers don’t let me get the loudness I really want. I wasn’t planning on replacing the factory head unit or adding amps or anything. Are you running these off factory head unit or aftermarket? If stock how do you like them, is it a significant upgrade in volume and quality? Appreciate the help!

You dont have to replace your factory head just replace the speakers, but if you wanna run subs then you might wanna consider swapping to an aftermarket head like a JVC.

You can keep factory head unit, even with a amp and sub. you just need a line out converter like AudioControl LCi2 to clean up the signal coming from your factory speaker wires (you'll have to tap into the factory speaker wires) Crutchfield is great with helping you get the stuff you need.

Since you tore the stock speaker i would have tore the connection and wire it from the inside so it can clip on and off like the factory ones

Are you running it straight from the head unit with no amp? I have 2012 Civic navigation head unit and I am wondering if it will run great with the factory navigation HU and no amp . Anyone knows the HU power output?

Kicker CS speakers are great to replace crappy factory speakers. The CS are the best speakers to run off of the factory radio. Even if you hook an amp to them they still sound like walmart speakers, but still better than cheap stock speakers.

yes. the front and rear deck speakers are the same size. factory size is 6.75" but you can also fit 6.5" in there.

The new speakers will not effect your tweeter. I left the factory tweeter plugged in with the new speakers.

rjm2010 when I installed these speakers my tweeter was automatically turned off. Maybe I wired it wrong? There were two positive and two negatives for each side and I only connected over positive and one negative into my speaker

Derry I can not say for sure because I can not see it, but I am assuming that since you said you have 4 wires total and only connect 2 that the other 2 are for the tweeters, and the tweeters aren’t working because they aren’t plugged in.

To replace door and rear speakers, you do not need an amp for them to work. I changed speakers on a 08 impala LT and they worked perfectly. Some people like to add amps to them to make them even louder, but to me they were loud enough with the amp in the factory unit.
