Levo SL Gen 2 is incredible. I run it in eco and occasionally trail, lasts ages. I tried a few other bikes and the Levo SL is the only one that feels like a normal bike descending. They nailed it. If you live in the big mountains, you’d go full power anyway. Horses for courses, I like effort, not being a complete passenger. Suits where I live as an alternative to my Epic 8.

The big miss when the Levo SL 24 was released was the motor and battery were behind the completion. Geometry and suspension were best in class. Would have preferred a motor and battery upgrade to justify the premium prices.

I've owned a kenevo sl (Gen 1) and switched to Levo SL Gen 2. I ride aggressive, drops jumps etc and don't find the Float X missing anything. Imo the Genie has a lot of marketing and may end up like previous Specialized fork endeavors (heavily marketed - then RIP). The Genie seems incredibly hard to tune - 99pct of riders (myself included) can't tell when 70% travel ends and last 30% begins... Plus, if you prefer the plush / enduro feel so no tokens in the first chamber, you're getting exactly what exists today with bottom out tokens (whee you can separate psi tune from last part of travel). Specialized sticks to marketing gimics, imo they should've added more battery (and 2nd priority maybe extra 5-10Nm) that's what is truly missing from the already wonderful Levo SL.

Interesting I thought the whole point of GENIE was to get rid of the piggyback reservoir. I wonder if my local spesh dealer can order me the genie shock for my SL. I find that I'm always bottoming out the float x as the sag o ring is just dangling between the stanchion and linkage.

Great video Sam ! I have questions maybe you can help me with. Presently I ride s4 kenevo expert and specialized enduro s4. I am looking for a light emtb. I would like a mullet with a bit shorter wheelbase. Where I ride there is no rocks, and relatively smooth. I love to do jumps and some drops but nothing giant. I am 5ft 11in 175 lbs with long legs and arms. Do you think the Levo SL up sized to S5 and in slack position with chain stay set in long could work for me to get rid of that slightly sketchy feeling doing fair size jumps on the short S4 bike that you are experiencing?
@SamsBikes8 күн бұрын
Hey mate thanks for the kind words, I think at 5,11 your pretty perfect for a s4 on the Levo SL but if you want it more stable you could size up to a s5. Maybe 🤔 go and sit on a S5 at a shops and see how it feels. Normally for me I can just sit on a bike know my size more or less and don’t really need to ride it. Let me know how you get on!

GENIE is a cool shock, but the prices are absolutely crazy and they did not upgrade their battery... Newer higher density cells are alreaty available for couple of years, so you can make the battery ligher or with higher capacity in the same weight. Why are they rising the price so badly?

@mikes.83053 ай бұрын
Yeah… if you think specialized will be one of the lowest torque and range for long, I’m sure they will disappoint you. The bike itself is a blast to ride. I like the heckler SL a hair better though.
@AliB-cf3bqАй бұрын
@@mikes.8305hey Mike I'm undecided between those two - so any insight appreciated - what do you like about the heckler sl over the spesh? And have you had any issues with the fazua motor? Thank you!
@mikes.8305Ай бұрын
@@AliB-cf3bq recommending either right now may be hard because of all the bikes that have launched the last few months. I have had issues with both bike motors fyi. Specialized was much easier and quicker to get a new one for me personally but that may just be my situation. On pure riding I like the heckler SL better, and the Fazua is more powerful, more quiet, and more efficient. I wonder if the Vala killed the heckler SL though? The Levo SL is so much fun to ride though. Just that short range and weaker motor. If you can get a good deal on either one they are a blast to ride, but the resale values I’m sure will plummet with all the new light full power bikes dropping.
