Can a CIP-28 token be updated too?

Existing CIP-25 tokens would need to be upgraded manually with users burning old tokens for new. Then the new version can take advantage of all the benefits.

​@@LearnCardano They don't necessarily have to be burned. They can be locked in a smart contract and still be obtained back if wished as long as the user owns the new CIP-68 token. SpaceBudz v2 contract does this. The founder of SpaceBudz, Alessandro Konrad, is the one who actually proposed CIP-68 with some IOG employee.
