What about teaching the child what’s appropriate on screen and even take time to have conversations on weekends specifically. you don’t work on those dates and if your job isn’t giving you time to talk to your children, then it’s probably a red flag that they’re probably being greedy and not interested in helping you provide for your children.

Kids don't imitate whats on TV when I was a kid I loved final destination, I never died in a car crash
@alysawheeler4907
@alysawheeler4907 6 жыл бұрын
It's not that there is a direct imitation but rather a conditioning that takes place overtime not instantly. Your example is terrible by the way, dying in a car crash is not based on behavior nor is there behavior to imitate. Behavior would be more along the lines of driving like a race car driver (and then maybe dying). But how can you say that they do not imitate? For example; if a new song comes out and the video has a dance that goes along with the song... there will be millions of kids in America learning that dance within the first day. Another example; you grew up playing Grand Theft Auto everyday, you didn't think it that bad that women were purchased for sex in the game and it made you more likely to buy a hooker or go to a strip club when you got older. I could keep going but I would rather you use your common sense and just think about this, maybe even read a couple scholar and peer reviewed studies on the subject or even attempt to take a college class that is relevant to this issue and learn to grasp the concepts used in their research which determines these facts.

How could you possibly imitate a car crash?!! That's not even an example! There is kids who jumped from their apartments trying to imitate super man!

As for parents my best advice be there if your kids are watching be vigilant and explain to them on some of the shows that is not appropriate for children. Educate children about good manners, humility and respect to others.
@TRIPYXmusic

Yes Thank you my parents never had the balls to explain to me when my child grows up after not repeating the same mistakes my parents made, I’m gonna say to them “I took responsibility into explaining to the child what they saw rather than blaming anything or anyone and still I managed to keep them respectable why do you think I was in your house longer than my child exactly”

most people say that its the child who is violence but the tv also affects nomatter how much or how little they watch
@alysawheeler4907
@alysawheeler4907 6 жыл бұрын
Robert - Is that why actual educated scholars that have studied this scenario say otherwise? It is not up for debate, it's been studied and basically proven that exposure to violence leads to an increase in violent behavior and aggression. "Mental Health" is subjective and what we consider crazy today may have been normal 150 years ago and Vice versa, somethings that were considered crazy or mentally ill in human history has now been recognized as normal.

how about NO tv? The problem is that parents treat tv like some type of necessity, even when it's regulated, but kids don't need to be plopped in front of the TV at all. another thing to consider is that it doesn't matter what tv the child is watching; studies show that watching TV at all alters the way the brain works and not in a good way. Why even risk it at all?

Yes, no tv or tablets or videos of any sort for children! Their brains are still developing and parents need to interact personally with them, not leave them in front of a screen.
