or have difficulty finding a white posca pencil to buy

now you can just use a dark color you can see and then use a school eraser to get white lines.
.
of course your painting must be completely dry before you start with the eraser otherwise you will smear the ink.

I use Academy series paper, that is the same as YUPO PAPER
any alcohol Ink brand and posca pencil wax/oil based
.
with my masking method, you don't have to pull it off when you're done.
when you choose to stop, your painting is finished and you can close it as usual.
when working with this technique you must do it on top of a hard surface.

Fantastic! I'm new to alcohol inks, and seeing you use the Posca pencils is a revelation. I have some white ones on the way that arrive today! And now that I see your trick of erasing colored lines, I'm excited to try that approach as well (I'm a photographer and have limited drawing skills, so the idea of having "invisible" lines to fill in is intimidating... I'd do much better with color I can erase!). Love your channel and your art. Thank you for sharing so generously!

That is a really amazing effect. The alcohol ink stays within the boundaries of the posca pencil lines, and then the “white line effect” after removal of the posca pencil looks like an outline. Thank you. 🥰

It was interesting to see your drawing evolve with blue, but I do like the white better. Also, “not” seeing the drawing when you use white is like watching magic. I was under the impression that the Posca pencil masking was foolproof, but you are so honest and creative to show how to correct when the ink flows out of the lines. This just goes to show me to be prepared it may not go as I hope and like anything I will need to practice! Thank you, thank you.

Thank you so much for your kind words it's fun to make them in white as you say it looks like magic. I think it's hard to avoid it overflowing a bit. sometimes I can do a whole painting without it, but other times I get too eager and drip too much. laugh out loud I am not so afraid of it overflowing, see it more as an opportunity to do something that is not planned

Hello Lone. Although it is much easier to see the outlines, I do agree with you that the white outlines do look prettier. What do you use to protect the paintings when you are finished? -A water-based varnish?

My Posca order came! But very disappointed in the spilling over even though I went slow and careful. But I’ll try a few more times before giving up.

I found on my first two efforts that my Ranger inks did not flow like yours do. The TRex did. Also, how yours stays in the lines I will never know. But...practice, practice, practice. I do LOVE the stained glass look!

What kind of air brush do you recommend just for air?

mine is a cheap one from a hardware store. go for a compressor that can go up to 50 psi
