Windstorm is a really great movie, I reccomend watching it in German as the English dub is a little silly at times. I think its better than the other "non equestrian tames the wild horse due to friendship" movies because its actually realistic. I know, theres the whole Mongolian sleeper thing, but the reason her and Windstorm become so close is because she doesnt have a traditional horse background based on dominance theory, and her grandpa teaches her a gentler approach. The first thing she does is give Windstorm and apple and sleep with him, which creates a positive association using food and nondemanding time. The reason hes so wild in the first place is hes a stallion locked in a stall 24/7, after hes let out hes much calmer.

This is actually so fascinating. I had never thought of it that way, that someone with a non-equestrian background wouldn't be predisposed to trying to force a horse into submission but rather look for a companion in a horse! Thanks for the enlightening comment 😁🩷

@@natalya402 I agree and a thing I love about the film is the learning montage being Mika learning to first balance, rhythm, coordination (small amount of joy watching Mr Kahn lob apples at Mika) and perseverance basically teaching her from the ground up. Then the actual riding happens and it feels earned you know. Personally I think the sequels are great as well (aspects of the lessons continuing onwards) haven’t watched the fifth one yet but the first four are good.

By now most of the issues have been fixed in the release version. It was very enjoyable to watch you play. Hopefully we can do this again with Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori.

I played the first version of the game and the first thing I said was “oh boy they’ve never seen a horse move, have they?” In this version the animations and horse shape remind me a LOT of Emerald Valley 🧐

@@xenay911 Aesir Interactive was the developer behind both games! I hadn't noticed the reused animations until after I had posted, but yes it does appear they were repurposed from Emerald Valley

I played the second game more than the first game, and I forgot that Tinka is so young in the first game. She's much older in the second. One thing I remember not liking about this game was the horse and cow chase missions. They are so much faster than you and if you make a single mistake and bounce off a rock and tree, you might as well quit and retry the mission. I remember I wasn't able to beat the cow chase mission.

I was so confused because I recognize the font from my childhood (it was my FAVORITE movie) but didn’t recognize the English name. My friends dad actually did prop work on the movies and she got to meet the actress and stuff I thought that was so cool. (Also holy shit the main theme is giving me so much nostalgia)

I've always loved windstorm, now that I'm a little older i can see that its not totally realistic but i find it ways better than free rain or others, while the main story is similar to a lot of movies, i find the execution in the first and second movie just amazing you should totally watch them, however i dont know how good the englisch dub is

Oh wow, a remaster of the first part...maybe they will do a remaster of the second part too...🥺 Did you know "Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori" is in making? The first Ostwind/Windstorm Film was made, when I was a teenager but it kinda seems far from outdated. Im happy to see Ostwind gets more international with the games and im looking forward the new game☺

The first game is set after the first two films as it has references to them both (the white horse). Why do almost all animators of horses forget the ankles. From what I remember the grooming was a chore because the controls on switch were not the best. I did enjoy the riding though (except the chasing the damn cow was so fast) especially when I got to explore (there was a general explore version with a few things to collect)

Idk, is it supposed to be realistic? To me it looks like the horse has these animations because its a super horse thats super fast bla bla xD Not to say theyre perfect, but the joltiness and stuff i think come from that, its ''shiny'' as the jumpy walk trot and canter look like they have alot of energy

I played the old version of windstorm and enjoyed it even with potato graphics. I feel like they kinda nerfed windstorm in this version. Why does he look like a black balloon 🤣 Edit: although i might be thinking of the 2nd one

Yeah bad horse animations turn me off immediately. Part of why I love horses is their beautiful gaits. It's about time they get that right. The best ones I have seen are Breath of the Wild and Red dead 2

Windstorm’s face made me cry of laughter 😭🤣🤣 the little legend is a bit cross eyes poor guy😂😂 The animations are what I expected tbh cause I asked them about it a few months ago and they pointed they mostly focused on the environment which is not motivating to me. Like, it’s nice but I don’t see the point of a remaster if it’s only a coat of paint on the environment basically but no improvement in gameplays or animations. I like pretty games, I feel it’s enjoyable but not sufficient but that’s my personal preference😊 I do appreciate them releasing a full game. It’s refreshing not seeing « soft launch » or « beta version »😆😌 For now, we can also see that they don’t have as much bugs that I feared ‘cause this studio is known for that unfortunately 😅 I feel there was things you couldn’t jump yet because of your xp but it wasn’t well explained so idk😅 I think they did good overall even if I am not interested. I am looking forward to the Mongolian game, it looked different and seeing the remaster of Windstorm is making me hopeful it will be good enough!☺️ Always fun to watch you reviews and I love your looks on games 😊

@@AbigailPinehaven Rattle said their productivity is like a game every 4 months… I find this very VERY scary 👀 Of course, it doesn’t mean they just pass 4 months on it but it means their game are made quickly and it is bound to have weaknesses that could have been solved with more time put in development. Now doesn’t mean it will be bad, they are tons of games with simple animations that are doing good since the story is driven or the gameplay engaging. The trot does look like the one in Emerald Valley !!! Less speedy but same little jumpy lag! I mean as long as they’re pricing is equivalent to the quality of the game ( around 20/30$ and not 80 +$ like a triple A game) and they patch bugs, I feel it’s fair for them to propose a game like that. I just hope it doesn’t take a year of patching bugs to have the game functioning like it was promoted to (cough cough like Cyberpunk fiasco for example 💀) but hey let’s give them a chance☺️ It looks playable and enjoyable so far so it’s promising!
