Y'all are so patient to answer every, 'what's this?' If you'll prompt him to repeat your answer every time, he will make that breakthrough in speach. Answer him, 'That's a rock. RrrrawK. Jackson, say rock. Rock.' Also, when he is prompting you verbally for action, make sure to ask him to say please and use the please sign language, too. Once he uses the word please or even the sign consistently, have him combine it - 'please bite' or 'please phone' etc. He has an excellent grasp of language, evidenced in his following directions well. Sorry to butt in. I have an early childhood Ed degree and we have a cleft lip and palate son (he's 20 now) who required speech therapy as an infant. I was also a nanny for many babies through my life. Breaking through to language is always so exciting!

I wouldn't do the minimum turn around for car seat. They actually recommend them till 2. If you look up there is something with their bones not fusing till they are 3-4. They are so much safer rear facing.
@b2eternity8763 жыл бұрын
Commenting here as well so hopefully they see this. American Academy of Pediatrics recommends age 2 but preferably maxing out the rear facing capabilities of a carseat.

@amberandrews21543 жыл бұрын
I didn’t want to be the only one commenting about this either but yes, they should be rear facing until at least 2 years. I understand Jackson is big for his age, so he may already be around the maximum for rear facing - however it’s still recommended that they’re rear facing until two. In fact, here in Maine it’s mandatory.

Branston Pickle is the top brand name for ‘sweet pickle’ or ‘ploughman’s pickle’. The name Branston comes from a village in England where the recipe originates. It’s great with cheese or with pork pie or cold meats like ham (not commercial prepacked stuff).

Been waiting forever to turn our 3.5 year old daughter’s carseat forward, but CDC guidelines and just about everything we’ve read recommends keeping them rear-facing until 4 years old, with our car seat recommending 4/40 lbs, whichever comes first. She’s tall, but her legs hang out of the side and she never complains about being uncomfortable. Research shows that in a collision it’s much safer that way. But you gotta do what works best for your family.

That car seat deal makes me think my parents must have loved that they just put me in a basket with 2 handles (metal and vinyl version of Moses basket) and tossed me on the back seat of their rambler and took off down the road. (Seatbelts? Where we're going we don't need seatbelts!) I have memories of an older me (around 4) laying on my belly on the backseat of their Chevy throwing crayons and toys into a hole that had rusted out in the floorboard. Good times laying there watching the glittery road underneath as we rode over. We didn't have a sunroof we had a roadfloor!

Hi guys, when my daughter was Jackson's age, when she wanted something, i made her say what she wanted, so she would point at what she wanted, i would tell her what it is, then i would say "now you say it", i would wait to give it to her when she said it. she would then start saying what she wanted by name. I think if you just give him what he wants without having him say the actual word, you are not giving him any other way to ask for it, so he will just say "this" because it works every time, so he doest have to use other words and he isnt learning to ask for things by their name. This helped my daughter advance a lot. This was my experience. Love you guys!

Really really hope you guys turn his seat back around, there’s somethings you can mess around with when it comes to your kid but car safety shouldn’t be one. In a third of US states it’s actually the law that they have to be rear facing until at least the age of two, and even then you should keep them rear facing for as long as possible. Car accidents can happen at any moment and you shouldn’t take any risks with Jackson, especially in a state like Florida and area like Orlando where we have so many dangerous roads.

I don’t usually leave comments, but please reconsider putting Jackson rear facing. Obviously look it up and educate yourselves before making any decisions, but Jackson’s spine is not developed enough to take the impact of an accident while forward facing and it could cause severe injury. Many people will tell you “but we did it and our kid was fine”… but there are many who did it and their kid wasn’t fine as well. Don’t want to be a car seat snob, but a baby’s safety is always number one.

Branston Pickle is just a relish you put on a cheese sandwich, or any sandwich but there are way nicer pickles and relishes than that, it’s just been around for years. Bovril is mainly used as a beef broth drink and its Marmite that we usually put on sandwiches. We have a saying that if something is like Marmite, because you either love it or hate it. It’s very strong but just a bit of it on hot toast wit butter is delicious!
